Hypnotic Metaphors Introduction
Hypnotic metaphors are metaphors that make a change. They are stories that entertain, but underneath the surface they are carefully crafted to induce certain changes in behavior. People listen to hypnotic metaphors and aren't aware of what's happening - their conscious filters get bypassed. This is when the most intense change-work really takes place. It's under-the-radar-therapy.

Hypnotic Metaphors of Milton H. Erickson
Legendary Hypnotist Milton H. Erickson Knew The Power Of Stories And Used Hypnotic Metaphors In His Work
Dr. Milton H. Erickson, one of the most important people in the development of modern hypnosis, achieved outstanding results with his patients.
He was able to help people live better lives, and often he did that by doing a - seemingly - simple thing: telling a story.
Therapy is always about making a change. But where there is change, there is resistance. Our conscious and subconscious minds often will fight claw and fang anything that challenges the status quo - even when it actually would be in our best interest.
Stories are an elegant way to bypass those critical filters. The hypnotic suggestions can slowly sink into our subconscious - unnoticed. And later on, those suggestions will seem like "own solutions" - the people will own those ideas. And if something is your own idea, you'll be a lot more likely to implement it than if somebody else told you to.
