Hypothyroidism Diet: Let's lose weight & get you feeling great!

I've put this lens together to give you an overview of the foods to include and the foods to avoid in your diet when you have hypothyroidism.

This is from my own experience and so I'm sure what worked for me will work for you too.

As you make changes to your hypothyroidism diet, feel how your body is reacting. Try to become more in tune with your body as you change what you eat, and you will be feeling better and looking better in no time at all!

My Story

When I started to put on weight, see locks of my hair in the bath tub and feel tired and depressed I thought it was because I was getting older. But I was only in my 30's then - it just didn't make sense!

Once I realized I was hypothyroid everything started to make sense and from then on and I've never looked back!

Once you know what's wrong with you, you can start to correct it.

So let's get going . . .

So here's what worked for me . . .

The best hypothyroidism diet on the net!

In this lens I'm going to take you through the foods I included and the foods I excluded from my diet in order to help me lose weight, feel more energized and looks heaps better despite my condition.

The foods to avoid in your diet . . .

steer clear!!

The big problem here is that the foods you need to avoid are those that contain natural goitrogens. Sadly these are often ver healthy foods.

I've listed below the foods I cut down massively or cut out completely.

1) Cabbage
2) Broccoli
3) Turnips
4) Rutabaga
5) Kale
6) Spinach
7) Brussels sprouts
8) peaches
9) Pears
10) Strawberries
11) Radishes
12) Cauliflower
13) Millet
14) Peanuts

Do note that cooking removes some of the propertys that react badly with your thyroid and so eating these foods raw is a big 'no no'.

Foods to include in your Hypothyroidism Diet

Time to lose weight feel great!

Go for foods rich in the amino acid tyrosine. This is because tyrosine combined with Iodine create thyroxin. This is an essential hormone produced by the thyroid gland.

1) Chicken Breast
2) Fish
3) Turkey
4) Low fat milk
5) Yoghurt
6) Avocardos
7) Lentals
8) Bananas
9) Pumpkin & Sesame seeds
10) Almonds

You need to eat foods rich in iodine but be careful, too much can be as bad as too little. This is because it can interfere with your bodies ability to absorb some medication.

Go for foods such as:

1) Sea kelp
2) Seaweed
3) Most Fresh fish
4) Fish oils
5) Iodized salt
6) Condensed milk
7) Trifle
8) Eggs

Don't panic!!
