I Love BooBoo

Summertime 1973 - outdoor rock concert. It was late in the afteroon, there were thousands of people in the crowd waiting for the next band to set up. I was making my way through the tangled twist of blankets and bodies when I heard the sweetest clearest whistling a human could ever express. Reconsidering my destination, I now followed that pure high whistle....

There he was! I found that handsome man lying on a blanket, wearing the sexiest maroon shirt one could ever wear. I was startled by how handsome he was, I gulped, then blurted: "I'd like to record that whistle...". He smiled up at me and said "Ok". I was hooked from that moment.

He's not only the most talented whistler I've ever heard, this man can play the guitar with otherworldly style. His axe is the telecaster. How strange life is... We all seem drawn to and are captured by the very things our souls yearn for. I love the sound of the telecaster - and there he was, as if waiting....

Beyond Bob's talents, his personality is one smooth creation. He has such compassion, such kindness - I've never in my life met a person less selfish, less self absorbed. If I didn't know that he was a Christian man, I'd sure wonder what made him so good.

Oh sure, he can be just like Oscar or the Grinch. But there's never any malice - we all get crabby at times don't we?

So here we are, 28 years later. I love this man with all my heart. He's still the funniest person I've ever met. Laughing must keep love alive.

I'm not entirely sure why this color speaks to me so well. It seems like maroon holds all of the passion of red and then goes deeper, beyond passion onto intimacy. Can a color be intimate? It must be true - sometimes I think I married him for his shirt!
