Spring is such a nice season with all the flowers in bloom. Well with flowers also come pollen and that was how my runny nose first started. I became allergic to the pollen and so began the sneezing, itchy eyes that became teary, the upper palate of my mouth itched as well. When spring was over, I still continued to sneeze a lot when there was too much dust flying around. What was seasonal allergies soon became an all-year-round runny nose.

My doctor put me on medication so that I wouldn't have a runny nose all the time. There was the anti-histamine pills for the day and different ones for the night. The day time drugs were milder while the night ones made me sleepy. Well, the mild medication was no use to me and I took the stronger ones even during the day. After a while I became immune to the side effects of being sleepy. I wasn't happy to be taking so much drugs but it made my life more bearable. Without it I really felt miserable and I couldn't do anything the whole day.

Allergies occur when your immune system reacts to a foreign substance like pollen or dust. It mistakenly identifies the foreign substance as a dangerous invader and will trigger the release of antibodies to attack the particular allergen.

Once these antibodies are produced, every time you are exposed to the allergen your immune system will go into action. This creates the release of histamines and other substances that cause allergic symptoms. It results in overstraining the immune system and can result in a depleted immune system.

My friend also asked me to try adding grape seed extract which has anti-histamine properties.
