Great lens. When people think of islands, they think of the Pacific Ocean. I did not know about this until I've read it. I think you did a great job. There are so many places around the world which are hidden and ready to be discovered. Thank you. 5*

I've never heard of Guernsey, it looks like a beautiful place! It must have an interesting mix of culture. I'm directly across the Atlantic, I'll try and strain my eyes and see if I can see it...nope. Another place to add to the growing bucket list. Nice work!

No no, there are still plenty of Guernsey Cows here - there'd be some local farmers quite upset if it was believed they were a breed from elsewhere! Guernsey dairy products are very popular in parts of the UK and France.

Like your lens! Are there still Guernsey cows on the island, or is that
just a name for a breed from elsewhere?

I lived in Tenerife, Canary Islands, and know what's like to live on an island. I didn't know about this place, thanks for letting us know. The French influence, sure makes it and even more interesting place to visit.

You sure got me wanting to go there. Very well-made lens. And the pictures are simply gorgeous. I've lensrolled you to my lens on flying coach with comfort; God knows with this kind of economy most of us will have to settle flying economy class.

That is a very interesting question and one i am thinking of covering in a fture lens if there is enough interest. Theres a great book called 'Islands at War' which goes into great detail about the occupation, it is highly suggested reading if you are in any way interested.

When I read that the Channel Islands continued to be occupied by the Germans right up until Germany surrendered 11 months after D-Day, I wondered how the islanders and the occupiers reacted to being left in a sort of backwater to the war as the Allies swept over France and into Germany itself.
