I love my stick vacuum

My stick vacuum cleaner is easy to use on stairs
I love my cordless stick vacuum. It is a lightweight, easy to use vacuum, that does a great job, and it charges right in it's own charging base.
My stick vacuum does everything I wanted it to do. It's easy to maneuver. It's easy to lift. It's much easier to use on my stairs than the big upright I had. There's no cord to get in the way while vacuuming. It does a better job on my short nap carpet than my big upright did even when it was new!
It's called an Ergorapido by Electrolux. Here is how it works:
Contents at a Glance
The basics of my Ergorapido stick vacuum
It stands and charges in its base.
The power switch for the whole vacuum unit is right below my hand. The full size stick vacuum has two speeds. The hand held vacuum fits within the lower part of the larger handle. You can see it there at the bottom of the unit.
There are two buttons on the larger handle, near the top of the handle of the hand held vacuum; they are squeezed together to release the handle of the hand held vacuum. You can see them right above my right shoe.
The hand held vacuum
is removable.
The hand held vacuum has it's own power button. The one speed button for the hand held portion is right near my thumb. To place the hand held vacuum back into the larger handle, remove any attachments from it, slip the end of the hand held vacuum back into the lower part of the large handle, and snap it back into the larger handle.
Why I love my stick vacuum
It's lightweight.
It is pretty easy to vacuum the stairs.
It vacuums better than my bigger bulky vacuum did.
It's easy to turn.
It's cord free vacuuming.
It's bag free.
The hand held vacuum has two attachments.
The nozzle attachment
and
the brush attachment.
Nozzle attachment for the hand held vacuum
is stored in the base.
There is a nozzle attachment that fits on the hand held vacuum to get into smaller areas or a little further under things. Brush attachment for the hand held vacuum
is also stored in the base.
There is also a small brush attachment. The attachments just sllip onto the hand held vacuum, and are pulled back off when finished.
The attachments are stored in the upright back portion of the charging base.
Cleaning the filter is okay.
I like that I'm adding less trash to the environment by cleaning it myself; there's no bag to throw away.
I figure whatever is in the filter was already in the air to begin with, so I am okay with that. I just hold it in the trash can while cleaning it.
Cleaning the hand held vacuum
Empty the parts right in to the trash can.
On the front lower part of the hand held vacuum are two rubber type strips that you squeeze to release the container that catches what you have vacuumed up.Inside that container, is the filter unit. There are two levers that you squeeze together to lift out the filter unit.
It is best to do this part over the trash can.
The container is emptied out, and the dust balls, etc. is peeled away from the outside of the filter unit.
Cleaning the filter, step 1
After the dust bunnies, etc. are removed from the outside of the filter, pull the spring loaded mechanism (in the center) to help loosen finer particles of dust. Also do this over the trash can.
The above steps, including this one, should be done every time you vacuum.
Cleaning the filter, step 2
The inside filter also lifts out from the outside filter.Wipe off any dust from the inside filter.
Again, use the spring release on the inside filter, to loosen up the fine particles, over the trash can.
This additional step is recommended every fifth cleaning.
I like that it has it's own charging base.
It is ready to use when I need it, since it goes back into the charging base between uses.
The charging base
holds the vacuum and the attachments.
The charging base can be wall mounted or it can stand on the floor. The back of the charging base is where the whole vacuum unit, and the two hand held vacuum attachments, are stored.
Cleaning the brushroll
If you are vacuuming up hairs, this may need to get cleaned on a regular basis too.
General use info for my stick vacuum
I use it on hardwood floors and short napped carpets.
The long handle for the whole vacuum unit is attached to the floor part with a swivel attachment, making it easy to turn.
We have a cat and there are two of us with shoulder length hair. I clean out the brush roller on a regular basis.
Even with having to clean the vacuum, I still prefer it over the upright vacuum. Being bagless, contributes to less waste. Because it is easy to use, I actually don't mind vacuuming. I am glad that I got it.
