SiteScape, Inc. provides Web-based collaboration software specifically designed to meet the communications and program management needs of large and/or distributed teams within or across business, government and military organizations. The company's integrated solutions address enterprise requirements for knowledge management, project management, communities of practice, telework, personal knowledge networking, business and government continuity, and many other workflow-driven functions.

SiteScape products are built by an experienced team that includes technical and management leaders from pioneering companies in the area of online collaboration. Today, SiteScape's development organization includes key members of the project team that designed and developed Digital Equipment Corporation's WorkGroup Web, the first completely Web-based collaboration tool. WorkGroup Web was later renamed Forum and then became known as AltaVista Forum after the product was moved into Digital's entrepreneurial spin-off, AltaVista Internet Software, Inc.

SiteScape is headquartered in Maynard, Massachusetts and has offices in Reston, VA and Guildford, UK.

Company History 

1995:
SiteScape is founded to provide Internet solutions through a combination of computer hardware, software and consulting services.

1997:
SiteScape becomes a partner of AltaVista, reselling and customizing the company's product set.

1998:
SiteScape makes a strategic decision to focus on AltaVista solutions, and later in the year, is approached by Compaq with an offer to sell all assets of AltaVista Forum.

1999:
SiteScape acquires AltaVista Forum, including all intellectual property, original engineers, customers, and VAR network, from Compaq. SiteScape renames Alta Vista Forum and starts selling SiteScape ForumĀ®, an enterprise-strength collaboration solution that allows employees, customers and partners to share information and documents via a Web browser.

2000:
SiteScape introduces Forum 5.0 and 5.1 as well as WebWorkZone%u2122, a hosted platform for sharing, storing, organizing and reusing information on a global basis.

2001:
SiteScape releases Forum 6.0 with built-in workflow and wireless support.

2002:
SiteScape releases Forum 7.0 with SQL database support, multi-file upload, accessible user interface and rich-text editing.

2003:
SiteScape releases Forum Program Management and Forum eMeeting as add-ons to Forum 7.0, enhancing the company's collaboration capabilities in both vertical and synchronous collaboration markets.

2005:
SiteScape acquires Imidio and introduced SiteScape ZonĀ®, a unified instant collaboration solution. SiteScape also releases Forum ZX, a collaboration platform that combines real-time features like presence detection, instant messaging and voice and web conferencing with traditional collaboration tools such as document management, threaded discussions, calendar sharing and workflow. In addition, the company releases Forum ST, an enterprise-strength, platform-independent solution that offers core collaboration technology.

2007:
SiteScape releases Forum 8.0, which extends the product's collaboration capabilities to include blogs, wikis and support for VoIP phone conferencing calling.

SiteScape also announces ICEcore, the first open source collaboration suite to unify team workspaces with real-time conferencing, while encouraging rapid user adoption through enterprise social networking. ICEcore uses the CPAL license. ICEcore Enterprise builds on the open source suite to provide, additional enterprise capabilities through a proprietary license.
