"Idea Mapping" book is now available in English, Japanese, and now Russian.

As I get news of book translations, I will keep you updated here.

- In August of 2008, Wiley announced that EKSMO Publisher in Moscow received a Global Rights Department License to translate the Idea Mapping book into Russian. Now available.
- On September 18, 2007, Wiley announced that Locus Publishing OOD in Bulgaria received a Global Rights Department License to translate the Idea Mapping book into Bulgarian. Still waiting for an actual publication. Still waiting for an actual publication.
- On May 5, 2007, Wiley announced that Hankyu Communications Co. received a Global Rights Department License to translate the Idea Mapping book into Japanese. Now available.
- On December 14, 2006 Wiley announced that the license to foreign translation rights has been granted to The Electronic Times in South Korea. Still waiting for an actual publication.

A Year at a Glance

I frequently have people ask me when and where I am teaching. Although I try to keep you informed via my blog and website, the website only shows public workshops and the private courses (which is the majority of my work are sprinkled throughout the blog. So here it is now all in one place!

February 5, 2009: MTSU (Middle Tennessee State University hosts two 3-hour workshops for students and faculty to kick off a new semester. This will be the 7th year in a row for MTSU.

February 18-20, 2009: One 2-day Idea Mapping Workshop will be held at Larimer County Government in Fort Collins, Colorado. The 3rd day will be extremely unique. We will invite the participants from the June 2008 workshop to join the new group and spend the day doing some advanced training as well as sharing how the June participants have applied their learning. This is closed to the public.

March 27, 2009: 1-Day Idea Mapping Workshop for the faculty of Livingston Christian School. Closed to the public.

April 7-8, 2009: Idea Mapping: A Learning Workshop. 2-day workshop in Toronto, Ontario for the CPPIB (Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board). This is closed to the public.

April 28-29: Idea Mapping Workshop at Boeing in Seattle.

May 4, 2009: Idea Mapping session at the annual PMI New Jersey conference.

May 18-19, 2009: Idea Mapping: A Learning Workshop. 2-day open public workshop in Palm Beach, Florida. You must enroll in advance.

May 26, 2009: Idea Mapping Workshop for the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan in Toronto. Closed to the public.

Watch Jamie Create a "Live" Idea Map

Jamie was a guest on BCTV's (Bloomfield Community TV) show "Michigan Entrepreneur" during the week of July 16, 2007. The first segment will be repeated twice during the week of September 3, 2007. The second segment aired twice during the week of September 10, 2007.

Each segment is 30 minutes long, and is hosted by Tara Kachaturoff. Part 1 provides background on Idea Mapping and the second show goes into detail on building maps. A link to the recorded version of Part 1 (7 minutes) is below. The link to Part 2 is now available at the same link. The live show was only viewable on a few channels in the Metro Detroit suburbs.

Memory & Speed Reading Workshop 

This is similar to the Memory Power workshop, but from roughly 2-4:30pm speed reading skills are introduced rather than going deeper into additional memory tools. This provides a bit of both skills if you like the option of variety.

In a recent workshop at ACH, one participant memorized a deck of 52 cards (in order) in 7 minutes with only one mistake. Another individual memorized 50 items in 8 minutes perfectly. There were others close to these success rates as well. Would you like to improve your memory? You can!

Jamie's Teaching Travels 

Speaking at conferences and teaching the Idea Mapping workshop has provided opportunities for me to travel around the world. I'll feature an occasional city from my above travel schedule, and make some recommendations. If it's a first-time visit, I'll report afterwards.

Every September I teach several workshops for MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN. I'd like to share a new favorite that I tried for the first time in Nashville. I like the DoubleTree when staying in Murfreesboro, but this time I spent the last night in The Hampton Inn just minutes from the Nashville airport. It was lovely, clean, convenient, had a shuttle to the airport, and a nice breakfast in the AM. Highly recommended.
