Who is most likely to become an Identity Theft Victim?

If you are a living, breathing, soul you will most likely become a victim of Identity Theft not unless you take the steps to prevent your identity from being stolen from you. Reports state that One out of every Four households in the United States will fall victim to Identity Theft.

Identity Theft happens to people of all ages, races, and religions. However, some age groups are effected more than others. Only about 5 percent of victims are under the age of 18. Most victims are in the 18 to 50 yr old range. Victims that are 50 and above make up only about 30 percent of Identity Theft Victims.

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission says that identity theft is its number one source of consumer complaints - 42 percent of all complaints, in 2001.
