Imagination runs riot in the bedroom thanks to Interior Design style ideas.

Does it really take expert knowledge to create the right environment to live in. Yes and no. Some may just have the knack of being able to devise a perfect scheme of colours to blend with textures and fabric to produce a masterpiece throughout their home. For the rest of us, we sometimes need that little extra help to see what works best in the corner of the room and over there by the couch and well you get my point.

Leave it up to me.

Hey I could probably live on a "Giant Bean Bag" (I'm gonna get one) with my papers in a pile over there and the tv remote all within arms reach, held down to the corner of my table. A mini fridge to hold my beers and I'll get the pizza box in the morning. But if I want to stay in my current relatioinship I've got to keep the place in order at all times. Long gone are my bachelor days.

So I've decided to enlist some help to fix up the apartment ready for when my girl returns from her business trip. I've cleaned out my account to get this place in shape so I expect to be stunned in to silence by the results.

I did try my hand at making some alterations around the place by myself, but I think I'll leave it to the professionals, as only they can save me from the discovery of the mess I've made.

I still watch all the recordings of television programmes about property design and refurbhishment and I'm confident that with the right budget and enough time I could effectively Project Manage the interior design elements of a small house from the ideas I've seen.

So should I leave my future design ideas in the hands of an expert I probaly cant afford at this tis or should I give it a go myself.

Interior Design - If you really want to know want you're doing.

I've found a very good book to help me, you and everyone with their future design aspirations.

It provides a good overview of the design process, design specialties (residential, commercial, hospitality, etc), educational preparation required, where jobs are likely to be found and some general business aspects related to the field.

I always like to read from the beginning stages of the learning process for any subject, to gain a good grasp of what's required even though I'm not planning to quit my day job just at this moment.

Becoming an Interior Designer:
A Guide to Careers in Design

As well as giving theoretical descriptions of the knowledge required to become an accomplished, the author has published the interviews with a number of prominent figures in the field asking practical questions such as "How did you become an interior designer?", "What is the greatest challenge of your work?", "What is the single most important skill an Interior Designer needs to be successful?", "How important is Interior Design education/Certification in today's industry?", "What do you look for in Hiring a new designer?", etc. This aspect allows the reader to hear from several real people rather than just getting a dry Occupational Outlook view.
