Help Improve your Photography in one move.
I love art and photography and take a camera with me every where I go. But that's not to say I'm an expert, not even close but this neat tip has helped me and can help you take better pictures.
It's the magic "rule of thirds"
Have a look at my Underwater Image of a fish. The image is split into thirds with white lines. While your taking the picture, looking through the view finder or at the screen, imagine the white lines splitting up the image like this
Take any points of interest in the scene and line them up on the intersections of these lines, where the lines cross. This will give you a much stronger photograph. This is especially true with portrait photography. Most people take the picture with the main focus smack bang in the middle but just off to one side give's a more natural feel.
Applying this to any scene will help to improve your photography. A professional marine photographer once told me, as well as the rule of thirds his secret and the key to a good photograph, was simply too take as many pictures as possible. Well, there's a little more too it than that but it's a good start. Apart from playing the odd's game here, the more you take the more your practicing and that I think is a major part of improving.

Here's one that really comes together not only a beautiful scene but you can see how the horizon and the beach are on each line and following the rule of thirds.Just take a minute and try to compose the image remembering this rule and then take loads of photos.
Hope this magic tip helps.
