Indigo Spirit

All my life I have carried within me an intense, unshakable awareness of how things were supposed to be, but weren't. Frustration and anger have been common emotions when I felt family or society pushing me to be or act in ways that are contrary to this inner knowing. I have been self aware from a very, very young age and carry memories of this. Psychic experiences began in childhood.

I've read a lot of theories and perspectives about Indigos, Crystals, Starseeds, Star Children, Children of the Rainbow, and Children of the Blue Ray. Initially I was trying to understand another very psychically gifted child in our family, but the more I read, the more I realized not only did this describe more children in the family, they also described me. In my experience and opinion, these are notably similar, and appear to be ways different observers have tried to explain and define the same events. They're all just trying to label and understand. Sometimes they limit it too much, like when they claim these children were only born after a certain date. They don't know that, they just know when they began to observe them.

But one thing they agree on: Children with sensitivities and psychic abilities are here, and there are a lot of them. They are different. The systems that served our parents' and grandparents' generations aren't meeting their needs and are even being found harmful. They cannot help but change our world, just by being in it. Loving parents trying to respond to their needs are stepping outside the norms of our societies and altering what we consider standard. Things that were considered fringe (Attachment Parenting and homeschooling, for example) are turning out to better meet their needs, and are becoming more prevalent.

Our world has already changed a lot, but there's still a long way to go.

There is a tendency to view anger as a negative emotion that should be suppressed or overcome. And as far as doing harm to others is concerned, we certainly should. But anger can also serve a purpose. Righteous anger fuels us to fight against and correct those aspects of society that are harmful, oppressive, and do not serve the whole.

Indigos who are not conscious of being Indigo, who are just Being themselves and trying to find their way in life, have that anger to stand against what strikes them in their lives as being wrong: the wrong way for people to treat them, the wrong way for society to be, the wrong path humankind has taken. To take on the entrenched paradigms they need to fight against, they need that energy.

Those of us who are aware of being Indigo can use that anger to draw our attention to things we need to work on and speak out against. We can use it to continue to drive us when the fight seems impossible. But we must not poison ourselves by holding onto it, nor should we let it harm others.

All of humankind is better served to get angry about the things that are wrong in the societies we have inherited, and change them.
