There are so many success stories you will hear about businesses making it good in the internet. The troubling thing is, there are maybe a tenfold or even a hundredfold of stories contradictory to theirs. Many have unsuccessfully launched a business enterprise that is internet based but only a handful shall succeed.

Here's a way to promote your products, services, business, idea,invention or concept that won't cost you an arm and a leg.

Get something you're passionate about and WANT to write about,talk about, and engage in.

You do NOT have to an expert in it. Not at all. But you have to WANT to write about it, talk about it, think about it, network about it.

That's the requirement.

Let's go back in time. I'm on the phone. The lady on the other line just can't figure out a target market. I asked her if she had ANY passions, hobbies or interests. She said she was really into networking.

But it NEVER dawned on her to become a producer instead of a consumer on that topic.

But what was stopping her from starting up a blog and doing 2 or 3 podcasts a week about woodworking? And making a few blog posts a week?

Nothing.

Is there money to be made? Well, pretty much if there is traffic,
there is money to be made. Here is how you check it out.

4. Set up your blog

I'd set up a Word-press blog on my server. If you're really a newbie, you can start with blogger.com or word-press.com

I'd create a blog with the word "woodworking" in it. Something like
"woodworking plans and tools".

5. Start writing and talking about your passion using keywords in your post titles.

Do blog posts using keywords in your post titles. But remember,at the end of the day, you're writing for human beings, not search engines. You NEED them to Digg or Stumble Upon your posts and so forth.

If you're writing about a topic you're really into, this isn't usually a problem.

6. Where do you get info to write about?

Go to Google.com/alerts and put in your keyword phrases. Have Google send you research in your email.

That'll give you all you need to write and blog about.

Those are the steps. But 99% of this is mental. What I mean is,the vast majority of it is about you in your own head deciding you want to be a creator and producer of information.

And you want to take the information you have or find that is perceived as most valuable and sell that segment or part of information to the people who visit your blog.

See, the average person feels it's too much work to write, blog or speak in a podcast. Or they don't feel comfortable doing it.

Get over it!

Just do it anyway in spite of your fears. You will NOT feel confident at first. You do it anyway. The people reading your blog or listening to your podcast do NOT care.

They care that you write or talk about the common interest and passion you share.

7. Start promoting your blog and podcast on Facebook and Twitter.

Get on Facebook. Search the groups there for your keyword. Join and participate.

When you post to your blog, send out a note to your Facebook friends and Twitter about it (see Twitter.com).

Buy some ads on Facebook targeting your special interest. Go to blogads.com and buy some ads. Start an affiliate program. Create your own info products and sell them to your target group.

With MNF, the theory is that you type in a root keyword or short phrase, like how to, and it brings back a couple hundred or so matches.

Every time I play with MNF I am able to find great phrases with decent search volume and very low competition. For example the other day I found a keyword phrase with 420 monthly searches and just 4 competitors.

I had problem with my data feed management and permissions for some files.Didn't get it right away that csv files must have 777 permissions.My host took care of that.

Last few days its just crazy. I am trying to setup new data feed for the blog and have lots of problems with it.
Formating feed and the cron job.Cron job is in your hosts cPanel area and tells your blog to republish text every 5 minutes so Google would notice you.

I had to call my tech support and let them do it. If you usually not doing stuff like that its a problem.So many technical things do manage. Once you made it it is soooo rewarding.

First, get your auto responder configured. Both GetResponse and aweber have very good tutorials to guide you through the process of putting in your name, customizing the welcome message, and adding the initial messages.

Next, you need a website with a lead capture page. I would recommend everyone look at profitmatic to do all this, because you can get website hosting and develop the web pages and cut-and-paste code to have everyone join your autoresponder, without knowing anything technical. It's great value for a complete package.It is a proven service.

This is a LOT less complicated that it sounds.
Go to hypertracker and get an account (try the free one, then get a paid one when you want to start using it seriously). Then, add a "campaign", which is all the details about a link you wish to mask and track.
You can add MORE than one link in the box where it says "destination URL", and by putting in more than one, it will randomly use one of these links when someone clicks the link that hypertracker generates (and they will always see that same link if they click the link again, because hypertracker is smart).
You can use hypertracker to create a tracking link, send this link to your list, and then add the urls (web links) that others send you to hypertracker, and they will get the signup if anyone clicks and their link comes up. This is not expensive system , really it is just an autoresponder, a hypertracker account, some websites with opt-in forms, and of course, growing list of people that read what you emails.

As for ad coops, I've tried them, and they work too.

This little survey will make your random visitors into targeted buyers. You will have to email often, everyday and give valuable info because they expect to learn something from you. 7 day lessons-you will know about what because of this survey. This is how you build trusted relationship with your leads. Don't send advertisement after advertisement to them. In last few days I have received lots of emails from one guru wanting me to buy something and I didn't because he made 2 mistakes.

1. He didn't provide one single shred of evidence that what he was saying about the product was true. Maybe every word he spoke was 100% golden truth, but I the reader (and potential customer) had no way to verify that fact.
2. All I ever get from this guy is promotional emails. He hasn't sent anything of instructional value in months. Now why would I trust somebody like that? What has he done for me, the potential customer, to prove to me that he has my best interests (and not just his wallet) in mind? When I did it, I stated the facts.I took the time to do a case study, test the results myself before I promoted the product. Only after I knew the method worked and could present the proof of it's success to others did I put together a promotional campaign. I'd like to think that I have a good track-record in this regard as well.
Start one thing and go with it for 6 months, if you don't get any result go back to drawing board. You will make mistakes, don't give up.
