Inexpensive Wedding Ideas Make Sense For Today's Wedding Planning

With today's tough economic times, inexpensive wedding ideas are vital to many families planning a wedding.

A wedding is a once in a lifetime event, so a bride still wants her day to be perfect. In uncertain economic times it is important not to get in trouble with debt during the planning of the wedding. There are many inexpensive wedding ideas that can make the day just as elegant while still keeping costs down. Saving money may take more of your own time in planning and preparation, but in the end it will be worth the savings.

Inexpensive Wedding Location Ideas

If you have a larger home or yard, you may be able to host your wedding and reception at home. However, many do not have a large enough home to be able to do this. But, you can still have an inexpensive wedding location. Look for an all-inclusive site that will let you hold your wedding and reception all in the same location.

A bed and breakfast could host an outdoor wedding and the reception in the dining area. A park setting could provide a scenic outdoor wedding with a nearby park shelter house hosting the reception. Check your local phone book for all-inclusive options in your area. Use your imagination. Don't limit yourself to the ordinary wedding settings when there are many locations that could serve as the perfect inexpensive wedding location. Find the option that best fits your budget.

Choosing Your Menu For A More Inexpensive Wedding Budget

The food served at the reception can be made more inexpensive as well. You can include inexpensive wedding ideas into the menu by serving pasta or chicken instead of steak or fish. Serve a meatless meal to save money. Lettuce salad or pasta salad offers an inexpensive side dish to include in your menu planning.

Using volunteer family and friends to help in cooking some of the dishes to be served is another great way to plan your wedding menu while saving money. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Everyone understands the need to save money and most will be more than happy to help out.

Another option is to not schedule your reception around normal dinner hours. Serving appetizers and drinks later in the evening can save money.

A morning wedding with a brunch reception can be very elegant, while offering a more inexpensive menu. Brunch foods will be cheaper, while still providing a meal to your guests. Remember, while you may be doing your planning with inexpensive wedding ideas, your guests are not concerned with what you have cut back on. They are just looking to forward to celebrating your special day with you.

Amber, your wedding sounds like it was wonderful. What a great idea. I'm sure everyone had just as much fun as if you had spent thousands of dollars.

We did our wedding reception at a county park. It cost us less than $60 for a 200 person pavillion and we got it from Sunrise to Sunset. We also served pizza. It was a casual reception and didn't cost us more than $200. I also did all my own centerpieces and decorations, as I work in a flower shop and can do that stuff. It was fun... Having a hand in your wedding makes it more personal and you will enjoy yourself more. Employ the help of you MOH and other friends and family; just have fun with it! Nothing is ever going to be perfect, so just run with what happens! I did, and I couldn't have been happier.
