IPK: Tangible Affiliate Earnings Poised to Annihilate Info Product Sales

For a long time now I've advocated the pursuit of affiliate income that's generated from tangible (ie: real) items rather than digital downloads and this is what Info Product Killer.

Don't get me wrong - I'm also a strong believer in digital download sales - I myself have made tens of thousands of dollars selling and promoting eBooks.

However, I also make a decent bit of cash from tangible affiliate sales and it all started right here last year on Squidoo. The Info Product Killer review that I wrote explains how I went from one lens that really made a lot of money last Christmas to domain affiliate earnings.

Is Info Product Killer Worth the Money or Is It a Scam?

Okay, I know you're used to marketers who promote every Tom, Dick, and Harry out there just to make a quick buck. That's not me. You want to know the truth about Info Product Killer and I'm gonna give it to you.

I NEVER (N-E-V-E-R) jump on those mass product launches and bombard my customers while I compete for the best bonus - and I even get customers emailing me to ask me if I'm promoting XYZ product because they'll buy from me for loyalty reasons and I tell them, "No." Why? I don't believe in the products.

But IPK - I believe in. Just like I believed in Santa as a kid - only this turns out to be REAL. I'll just bottom line it for you right here:

I made money the first night I got it.

I hadn't even read past the introductory PDF and I did something real quick - and saw a sale the next morning! Then day 2, another sale - that was $10.46 in commission from a few minutes of effort promoting a smallish priced product.

I decided I'd better get through the course in full so I'll know what I'm doing.

Why I Paid Full Price for Info Product Killer!

(And I Don't Regret It)

Info Product Killer
So I'm surfing through the Warrior Forum one day and I see this thread that asks, "What do you think about my site?" It wasn't anyone I recognized, but I clicked through thinking I'd offer some helpful pointers.

The guy put his domain in there and I went to the site just to see. It was your typical "product launch looking" domain and I suspicioned the DJK (Day Job Killer) guys were behind it at first. I liked the sales letter - especially this line: "This Year You Can Shift More Xmas Presents Than Santa Claus And His 12 Reindeer..."

That brought the LOLs because I just pictured it for some reason - Tiffany Dow moves more Christmas presents than Santa. The visual cracked me up.

So anyway, I scroll through, immediately turned on by the Amazon stats because I am really really interested in Amazon money and even wrote 10 Hot Amazon Squidoo Lens Ideas recently. So I wanted to know more.

So I bought anyway, fully bracing myself to be brave enough to return it if it was crap. I went back to the Warrior Forum thread and read that he was considering running a WSO (Warrior Special Offer) on it. Well, I didn't want to wait for that.

I emailed him jokingly cursing him for convincing me to pay full price. Guess what? He emails me and asks if he can call me!

I said, "Sure!" Read on to see what I learned about IPK and the man behind it...

"Can I use a WordPress blog on my domain for this? YES!"

Hi Tiffany,

Somehow I got on your mailing list, don't remember what ad it was for. Anyhow, I want to give you a big THANK YOU!

A few days ago you send me an email regarding IPK, I bought into it, even so I made myself a promise NOT to buy any more hype "million dollar" income tips.

Just put last night a site together, only front page yet, www.crocsmammothclog.com (did a lot of keyword search) because I have a major project for my "Stop Foreclosure" book, which takes a lot of time away.

This concept seems to be the solution for my struggle with all these overhyped products from all these "Gurus" who make most of their money from selling all these "great solution" products.

I got already several domain names for some toy projects in the next few days. Perfect timing. I appreciate that you do not hawk in your emails all these hyped info products and stay just with your own line and such a terrific outside offer. I must have missed that offer in the WF.

Have a great day.

Holger

Note from Tiff:

See? I TOLD you they appreciate me not jumping on the info product promotion bandwagon - I ONLY promote what's good, period. I look out for my subscribers.

"Hi Tiffany,

Yes I bought IPK and I love it. :-) I just have a question for you-if you can spare a few minutes. I know I'll be working on IPK all day (I took a sick day off from work!)

What are your thoughts on using domain names with product/company names in them? I understand the 007 model number strategy but on several occasions full product names are used such as http://www.nintendo-ds-lite-pink.co.us.

I've always been told this is a big no-no because of potential legal issues. Can we get sued for doing this or do companies simply ask you to stop using the domain name if they don't like it? I know you can't give me advice but was just hoping I could get your opinion.
Thanks :-)
Amanda"

Review #6:

"Hi Tiff,

First of all, I want to THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for the IPK tip. Wow! All my SEO concerns and questions are now finally answered.

As you know, I ordered IPK (because of you). I am very excited about what IPK has taught me about OPSEO. You haven't heard back from me, because I have spent the last several days going through all the videos, and tutorials, and I have downloaded all the free softwares needed to access and use the IPK templates. I feel I understand exactly what I need to do to succeed.
Jared"

Question About IPK from One of My List Subscribers:

Question: What is the skill level do you think?

Answer: I'm going to let a new review that came in from Wendy answer this because I agree:

"Hi Tiffany! I just bought IPK as well and am now setting up my first sites. I'm so excited! After going through the videos, I completely understand how to do this! He makes it look so simple. Oh wait, maybe I'm missing something :0 Can it really be this easy??"

Question About Info Product Killer:

"About How Long Does It Take to Implement?"

Well as I said before, I started making money with Info Product Killer the first night but see, I went about it all wrong - I even GOOFED and I made money!

I can't tell you exact strategy, but you could have site 1 up and running same day IMO. Takes about 5 minutes to register your domains (I got .info so they were under $5 for all 5).

Takes about 15 minutes to do your writing. Well, everyone's different - but he shows you a shortcut.

I plugged mine into a crude template I created but I think he's giving one away with it now that I asked, so you'd just use his.

My only stumbling block was the image he uses - I don't know Photoshop OR Gimp, but he's making a tutorial on Gimp (which is free). My husband, however - made the image in a few minutes.

Now that I'm working on branching my sites into full sites, it's just writing the content and uploading. I'm already indexed (happened FAST) and getting SEO traffic.

What About the Free Methods? Are They Workable with IPK?

You're asking the web 2.0 Queen about free traffic possibilities!? I'm a big proponent. This lens is web 2.0, EZA is web 2.0, blogs are web 2.0 - and yes, they can all be used in conjunction with this.

It's not necessary to use PPC. You can, but it's not a requirement.

To Sultan: "From what I gather, you use the brand name in the URL. For example, you wouldn't use "talking doll," you'd use "Elmo Live" in your URL."

To ShawnMRill "I believe so. It's working for me in other niches. I'm beginning to build some of my IM sites even like this. It's amazing because I'm seeing traffic that comes in like I cast a big net out - not just very targeted, limited traffic. You don't HAVE to do the other web 2.0 stuff - I didn't initially and still saw results. But it's helping for sure!

I'm thinking about buying IPK and am wondering if the organic traffic building methods he teaches are worth the price of the product? In your humble opinion, do you believe using only the techniques he talks about will bring you (potential) success for the next two months or do you need to instill Web 2.0, Bum Marketing, and Blogging for added backlinks and exposure?

    Peace,
    Shawn.

Great review and well researched. From reading this I'm wondering if the strategy REQUIRES you to use brand names in the url, or if that is simply an option

    Hi Tiff
I just found your lens and info about IPK, I think this is something I should be buying. A question though, I thought I read somewhere that the Amazon cookie only lasts for 24 hrs which really means that unless you get a sale on ther first hit you will likely not earn commission if the prospect revisits the product and buys later. Do you know if this is the case?
    Thanks for a great lens

George - if you're already making $10,000 a month as an associate, I'm sure it IS very basic to you. But most are not at that level yet and IPK's what gets them there ;)

Susi - I would do what you want regarding products. However, I tried shareasale, cj.com and others and didn't sell 1 penny worth. I used Amazon and sold quite a bit! Just an fyi. BTW, buy dot info domains (cheap at 99 cents). I use Hostgator for my hosting company - get a hatchling or baby plan for cheap and unlimited domains.

New to you and Squidoo , but I'm on your list and bought IPK. I LOVE it, but I'm newbie & stumped. I have too many questions and they're all inter-related.

    1. I found a PERFECT product name from a niche vendor who isn't amazon. I've already bought several domain names (Before I found out about IPK! Dang!), but none of them are active. The company (and many others I saw) want to see your website before they approve your affiliate status. So, say, I activate my "brandx" website (through WHICH hosting company???--another lost-in-the-woods-newbie question). "BrandX" is active, but empty. Will the vendor company approve it as an affiliate? What needs to go in it to get it started?

I emailed the IPK owner a similar question, and he recommended that I ONLY go w/ Amazon to start. But this one company is so cool, I think I could use it too (and many others!), as satellites to the amazon accounts. I have a warm market I can email with these products (have their permission first).

Not really. I did not learn anything new. I've been averaging $10,000 per month as an Amazon affiliate from my personal blog. His information is very basic. Nothing new!
