Creating and Selling Information Products on the Internet

I used direct-mail, I targeted a niche, and I created holidays for that niche. I also turned my 'hobby' and interests into a business....My 'hobby' was drinking beer! So I sold Beer Festival Holidays to pubs and clubs throughout the UK. I started with a 'test' mailing of 10,000 (I was confident it would work)! AND IT DID, even better than I expected.
I eventually expanded to create a list of over 50,000 and became the largest UK Tour Operator to events such as the Belgium Beer Festival, the Prix l'Arc de Triomphe' horse race in Paris, and the Hamburg Beer Festival. The business got so big that I ran out of hotel capacity, and ended up creating my own Beer Festival in Holland to satisfy demand.
That was the past however. After an expensive divorce I decided to change career. I wanted to learn more about this new-fangled internet lark. But I also needed to earn money. So I went back to my battered old 'Lazy Man's Way to Riches' book, and decided to have a go at making money the way Joe Karbo did - selling information on how to make money!
Early days yet, but I have created two websites which I am quite proud of considering I knew nothing about this a year ago. One is a sort of homage to Joe Karbo and introduction to the Direct Response industry giving a wide choice of business opportunities. My latest website is focused on Information Products for people who have identified this as a high profit margin business.
The easiest and quickest way to get into Information Publishing is to buy products with Resell Rights included, which means you can legally copy the product, resell it and keep 100% of the profit.

Action DOES produce RESULTS!
Let's look at DIRECT MAIL. This is often neglected in this internet age, but it is still highly profitable. You can USE the internet to INCREASE profits and REDUCE costs. Instead of the normal package of expensive brochures and reply envelopes, just send a one page PERSONALISED sales letter (using mail-merge with Microsoft Word and Access) directing the recipients to your WEBSITE. Your website then converts enquiries into sales.
So you can have the advantage of a full colour multi-media sales brochure on your website, and your only direct mail cost is one sheet of paper, an envelope and postage stamp.
Do the maths. If you can make money with a 1% return go for it. Up to 2% response is normal in direct mail, but you can improve on this with properly targeted lists.
