MY REVIEW OF INSIDE INSIDE

Welcome, this lens is about the remarkable book "Inside Inside" written by author James Lipton. Mr. Lipton candidly reveals many of his intimate experiences throughout his life. You'll learn about his academic accomplishments, his achievements as an actor on the Broadway stage, as well as about his acting experiences on well known daytime soap operas, and later becoming a writer for those same daytime soap operas. Amazingly, his experiences would lead to his becoming a producer of many significant productions. My favorite revelations were about events that led to his becoming founder of the infamous "Inside the Actors Studio." Mr. Lipton's accounts of his intense preparation and research for these intimate interviews with world famous actors were amazingly revealing and personally were among my favorite chapters.

Lipton enthusiastically joined the "game" of coining terms, which had been in progress for more than 500 years. In 1968 he published his first EXALTATION OF LARKS, which contained 175 terms -- some from Middle English, some original. Neither the hardbound nor the paperback edition went out of print before the Ultimate Edition (with more than 1,000 terms) was published in 1991. Inside the Actors Studio is the Emmy-nominated, longest-running original series on the Bravo cable television channel, hosted by James Lipton. It is produced and directed by Jeff Wurtz. The program, which premiered in 1994, is distributed by CABLEready and seen in 79 million American homes and in 125 countries around the world. It is taped at the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts at Pace University's New York City campus.

    Ooh, now I know what to get my hubby for his next gift! (He's SO hard to buy for, thanks!) And I own An Exaltation of Larks but never connected that it was THAT James Lipton!
