Art as an inspiration for daily life ...!

Art is not just something on the wall ... it inspires us and can also heal us through special use of design and/or colors. It is a way of communicating with each other and bring out the best in each of us ...
My own muse is a spiritual cat called Knor ('K' pronounced as in 'kitchen') and you can clearly find her pawprint in the choices below ... :-)

With everyone having a digital camera these days and sometimes taking remarkable shots, only the real great photographers are standing out. Mike Dawson is one of those.
His landscapes are just breathtaking!
Somebody told me once that with having such great views it is impossible to think small thoughts and I really like that one! Mike's photography is surely an inspiration for thinking outside the box!
To visit Mike Dawson's gallery go to Imagekind.

With a touch of color ...

View Monica Resinger's work.

No wonder cats are the greatest inspiration not only for artwork, but for anything in life ... They lift your mood, especially if they are so cute as this knor created by Monica Resinger. I really like the feminine touch in the subtle eyelashes and the beautiful use of color. Monica has a very unique style of art, and I invite you to visit her gallery, where she features not only our furry purry friends, but also landscapes, lighthouses and much more! :-)

Snow as inspiration

View Pat Abbott's work.

The looks of snow can be very magical indeed. One of my favorite photographers is Pat Abbott, who took this fantastic shot of seagulls in the snow. As we usually see seagulls near the ocean, this is a very original work, with a stunning composition. Looking at this picture, I wish I could fly ... :-)

Interesting lens filled with beautiful artwork. Didn't know knor (cats) held such a place of importance in your life...I have several images of cats in my imagekind portfolio, but the one I think you might really like is "Abstract Cat" in my Abstract gallery. Hope you will check it out. I am very impressed with your talent, and the feelings and inspiration that are behind the images. Best wishes, JacqueA

Vision as Inspiration

View Kendall Eutemey's work.

A skyline always invokes many feelings in me when I look at it. I cannot help but imagine the lives of all those people living in these buildings and the endless opportunities that live in towns. Like one big creative engine ...
This picture is also striking in the lighting and colors ... an inspiring time of day, capturing that special feel when a day ends and a night begins ...

On wings ...

View Jessica Rose's work.

Butterflies are a very powerful image. It is known from the concentration camps in Germany that children drew butterflies on the wall. Also people in coma seem to have a relationship with the image of a butterfly. They appear to be the symbol of living without a body, of being free ... Jessica Rose has captures a lot of different species of butterflies on her camera, one image even more stunning than the other ... There is so much beauty in this physical world ...

Lighting is everything!

View Joanne Mannell's work.

Light is important in every respect, whether it is the amount of sunshine we are getting over a period of time or the light we shed on situations in our life: without it we would not be able to live and grow! In the world of art the use of light can create magic, like in this watercolor by Joanne Mannell. What makes this work especially very beautiful is the use of color as well: the combination of the warm yellow with the cool blue and grey tones, is just extraordinary.

The Charm of Aging ... :-)

View David Roman's work.

David Roman created a new art gallery devoted to flowers ... all a joy for the eye!
What I find so particularly appealing about this picture is the stunning beauty of this withering flower ... A new look at ageing and inspiring to think how it can be just dazzling to age! :-) Great subtle details and colors, a wonderful shot!

Greetings from ...

View Loredana's work.

While viewing wide landscapes and beautiful scenery, it is very difficult to have small thoughts ... Especially scenes from places you haven't been yourself before, a view can invite you to "think outside the box". Sensuality as Inspiration

View Brigitte Hintner's work.

When art gives you the feeling that you are a sensual person, something profound has happened. It has given you a deeper connection with your second chakra, also the center of joy!
This work, called Tango by Brigitte Hintner, does exactly that. It evokes sensuality and creativity and the joy in life! :-) A very skillful and sexy artwork!

In the Flow ...

View Suzee Corbell's work.

Water is directly related to our emotions and thus images of water are literally "moving" us!
Suzee Corbell has created a very unique artwork with the concept of water. The stylized effect has a very creative feel to it and of course the use of colors is outstanding! There is something special with the color blue: it is soothing and calming, but I think the effect goes deeper and connects us with the flow of life itself ...
To see this work and more art by Suzee, check out her Imagekind gallery.

The muse at work again! :-)

View Carrie Hawk's work.

Sometimes I come across the most delightful and awesome art. This time I found a very talented artist who is inspired by my own favorite topic (yes, Knor again! :-))) Carrie Hawk created knors as fairies, as pirates (the naughty side! :-)and also as Bastet, the lovely goddess of knors, healing, dancing and joy ... Carrie added so much detail and has such a great use of colors ... in other words: VERY inspiring! :-)
Also check out Carrie's blog to see the latest work!

Inspired by new products!

Flip Mino Camcorders in Anne's Cafepress store.

Lately I have been very inspired by the new Flip Mino Camcorders at Cafepress. Where I usually create art for on the wall or as greeting cards, these camcorders require a different approach. As with everything: form follows function and these camcorders are no exception! So I find myself creating in a different and new way.
Please check them out and let me know what you think!

Silhouette

View Kim Cady's work.

Looking at my favorite subject (knors, or sometimes better known as cats :-))) from different angles, adds something new every time. A classical form of art is using shilhouettes and Kim Cady has done such an original and beautiful job on her knor Belle! Belle is beautiful indeed! :-)
The use of strong contrasts can bring clarity and is a very outspoken style. If you have this artwork in your surroundings it can enhance clarity in your thoughts ...

Stressie ... a heartwarming knor ... :-)

View Lucia Stewart's work.

My muse Knor (read: spiritual cat :-))) and I are just so excited about the extensive Stressie Cat series created by Lucia Stewart! She has an endless imagination and Stressie has become such a delightful and attractive character!
What I find especially appealing in this particular one is that Lucia gave Stressie wings ... as in angel-knor ... This is work that always brings a smile ...

Inspiring Colors

View Robin Mead's work.

Just looking at Robin Mead's work makes me feel happy! :-) Colors can have a very uplifting effect on our mood, and Robin is an expert in the use of color. But also her designs are extraordinary in that they evoke a very warm feeling: vibrant and swinging, like a wonderful holiday ... :-)
This particular work is also nice in that it somehow has a stained glass effect, which makes it very special.
You can see her work at Artwanted.

Talent

View Sharon Himes' work

With some artworks you can immediately see that who created is, is very talented. I have that with Sharon Himes' work, which I find inspiring because of the obvious combination of skill and talent.
If you have a talent and you work on it ... you get masterpieces! :-)

Where is inspiration coming from?

View Naomi Hodawanus' work

Delving into the mystery of inspiration and trying to find out what it is or where it comes from, I cannot help but going back to these age-old questions like "who is thinking this thought?" Are we picking up inspiration from the aether or does it stem from within? I think this awesome work by Naomi Hodawanus feels like giving us a possible answer to these questions.
As a piece of art I find it very skillful work and radiating a lot of love and tenderness ... Enjoy!

Inspiration from childhood memories

View Charlotte Rossmann's work.

Art for and through children is usually very colorful and this outstanding artwork by Charlotte Rossmann is no exception. It brings out a joyful feeling and reminds us of the things we used to like as a child. Usually the things we like as a child are very important indicators of where our talents are and also form a basis for what we truly enjoy later in life ... I encourage you to check out all of Charlotte's work since it is very profound and at the same time a source of great inspiration and joy.

Knors - endless source of inspiration! :-)

I found this work by Susan Herbert very skillful and creative and of course ... inspiring! :-)

Geometrics

Find harmony in Ann Horn's geometric designs.

There is something in the mathematical construction of buildings that has a relationship with nature, for instance the structure of a leaf on a tree. Everything that is created with a sense of harmony reflects on us, and through resonance stimulates our own harmony ... which then stimulates our own creativity and inspiration.
Ann Horn has a great eye for this, as you can see in this beautiful shot of a building. The reflections of the sky as a referral to space adds to the great energy emanating from this work.

Angels ... Inspiration from all times and ages ...

View Mitsuko Kashiwada's work.

One of the most fascinating aspects of art is how the energy in the image can actually influence us and even heal us. Mitsuko Kashiwada created this beautiful painting of Archangel Raphael and just by looking at it, you can feel how it lifts your energy ...

The effects of a beautiful view ...

Visit Christopher Holmes' gallery

Someone once said to me about San Francisco: with great views like this, it is impossible to have small thoughts ... And I think there is so much truth in that. A beautiful view expands the mind and lifts the mood. I really like the photography of Christopher Holmes because the topic is great, the perspective awesome and his pictures just have this fantastic mood ... very inspiring! :-)

View Sara Deutsch' work.

Sara Deutsch created an artwork called "Inspiration" and I always find her work indeed very inspiring. True inspiration touches something deep inside, that results in joy and creative action, whether in art or in other fields of our lives. I love the depth and excellent use of colors in Sara's work.

Just another flower?

View Mariaan Krog's work.

There is never anything "ordinary" about a flower ... they each have their own characteristics and maybe even personality ... And what is a better way to honor the flowers on our path than creating an artwork that puts them in the spotlight?
I specifically like this rose by Mariaan Krog, because she gave it just that little extra, that makes that you just want to keep looking at it ...
Excellent colors and great effects!

Art can change your home!

View Buddy Sears' work.

I really love Buddy Sears' art. He has a way of creating ordinary things so that they appear to be in some sort of surreal dimension. Very fascinating and also impressive in how these artworks can influence your everyday reality. It is like his works lift you above your daily life and enable you to see a higher vibration in it ...
And then I haven't even started yet about the colors and composition ...
Please check it out for yourself at Redbubble.

How abstract can move something inside us

View the work of Alberto d'Assumpcao

It is quite an art to create an abstract that is compelling and stirs something inside our subconscious mind ... but Alberto d'Assumpcao creates abstracts that you just want to keep looking at. I think there is something in the mathematical way they are structured and the combination of colors that resonates with our own natural frequencies ...

Original perspective

View Savanna Redman's work.

Another example of the great inspiration provided by our furry purry friends! :-)
I really like this work by Savanna Redman.
It has such happy colors and of course you can't beat such a cute knor-face! :-) It also speaks about one of the most interesting qualities in life: curiosity!
Living life playfully is fun ... :-)

Knor at her best! :-)

View Nelly van Nieuwenhuijzen's work.

Knor is of course inspiring millions of people and the result can be stunning, like this work by Nelly van Nieuwenhuijzen with a knor in watercolor. I like the wisdom here in Knor's expression and also the recurring blues are very compelling.

The beauty of nature

View Walter Paul Bebirian's work.

To see all of Walter's work will probably take you days if not longer ... I choose one of his pictures that struck me since it has such a great composition.

Thank You!

View Will Borden's work.

Will Borden is an avid photographer and has an extensive collection of photographs on Imagekind.
I chose this macro of a flower out of many beautiful pictures because it shows so clearly how important it is to see all the beauty around us. If you do not see the simple flowers on your path, how can you be ready for the abundance that life has to offer ... ?
You can find this image here ... maybe a nice gift for Valentine's Day?
