Integrate PayPal with aWeber

How to Integrate PayPal Button with your aWeber List

We already know that aWeber is the most used and trusted autoresponder, and PayPal is the best third party Processor to handle the money for our transactions. But how they are working together to produce a smooth transaction for what we sell?

Usually I like to choose larger topics, but this is an exception, it is very narrow one but so important, that I decide to treat this as a stand alone subject which it is a must know for out success as Internet marketers.

 Note:

This type of integration is available only for shopping cart buttons, it is not available for

  • recurring payment or
  • subscription products.

The Benefits of Integrating PayPal with aWeber

If you do the integration, you will be able to:
  • Send post purchase email to customers for multi purposes
  • Send out purchased information products automatically
  • Up-sell your customers using emails
  • Make the relationship stronger with your customers sending newsletters or other information, and more

The first step is to create a list, and creating a list you actually create an email address which will look as:
list-name@aweber.com

Step by Step Instructions Part I

1. Creating a list and activate a Parser:
You sign on your aWeber account
You create a new list or choose a list you have from the drop down menu, clicking on the little arrow.

Only for the purpose of this lens, I create a new list called: my-list-name. This means that I create an autoresponder email address which is: my-list-name@aweber.com

Now you need to go in "My Lists" (top button) and click on it.

Choose "Email Parser", click on it, a long drop down menu will appear:

Mark "PayPal Orders"

Step by Step Instructions Part II

2. Add Your Autoresponder Email Address to Your PayPal Account:

Sign on your PayPal Account.
Choose "My Account", overview, expand "Profile" and click on "Add or Edit email":

You get this new screen which contains the old emails you already integrate or have.
In far right you have a "Add" button, click on it! (I added manually on red as the button was to far right to get it in the image):

A new screen pop up, you have to fill in your aweber address for the list you are working on, in out case "my-list-name", click save:

The new screen has old emails plus the one you have added, which has an unconfirmed status at this point:

You have the instruction on this screen:
"You have added a new email address to your account. A confirmation email has been sent to that address. please confirm this new email address by clicking on the link in the email"
This is how the first PayPal email looks like:

And this is the email with the confirmation link:

You confirm, clicking on URL, but this is only a confirmation that the email is the right one to integrate..

The next step is to find out a "Confirmation code" created by PayPal and you have to come back to aweber for the next step.

Step by Step Instructions Part III

3. Get Confirmation Code created by PayPal

Sign on again on your aWeber account.
On the right site of the page you have "Search Subscribers" box, click on the green "+" sign

The box expands and now you must do a search on "email", "contain", and "papal", exactly as you see in the next screen shot, fill in and click the first "search" box:

This is the result of your search, it shows and old email which is confirmed, and the new email which wait to be confirmed, click on "service@paypal.com" in Email column:

Find "Confirmed? NO" and click on NO, the screen expands, scroll to find the 20 digits confirmation number.

Highlight confirmation number, save it on a Notepad.
The 20 digits Confirmation number will be used when you will create the "BUY" button for the sale page"

On request I'll add that part as well, even thought is not part of this lens.

Thank you, we use eweber as an autoresponder in Affiliate marketing. It is the best autoresponder we have, keeps us out of trouble with spam and has tons of useful features, integration with PayPal is one of the.
Sure it is a learning curve, and take a little time to mastermind but is a very useful and powerful tool.

Even though I've turned off confirmed opt-in, it still prompted me to confirm my email to receive the first set of emails.

Is there a way around this?
