The answer is yes. This lens is for you and for me. I am involved in Internet Marketing using traditional physical product websites, direct affiliate marketing linking, websites that sell e-products, and e-mail marketing. Every time I speak with someone that is involved in Internet Marketing I learn something new. I am not a "guru" nor am I a "computer geek". In fact I once took out a hard drive by touching a floppy disc with a paper clip.

For several years Internet Marketers have used Traffic Exchanges to drive 1000s of visitors to their websites. Like with all aspects of Internet Marketing, the ways to successfully use traffic exchanges have changed. It is more than just throwing a website on a traffic exchange and getting traffic.

Today people are bombarded with traffic exchanges and messages. Everyone seems to be promoting the same thing the same way with the same pages. You need to be creative, unique and build relationships with people.

What people really want from surfing traffic exchanges is more traffic, customers and profit for the business opportunity they are promoting.

Like with most reports on the Internet, there is a squeeze page you can read, or just go to the bottom of the page and sign up to receive the report.

You also need to pick traffic exchanges that are reliable, offer a reasonable surf ratio, and credits for the surfing of people you refer. An added bonus is if the traffic exchange is new (this means you have a lot of people you can refer) and if there is a way to get a lifetime membership for a single lump sum payment.

What is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is where you sell something that someone else owns and the owner pays you a portion of the sale. The nice thing about this is you do not have to ship or handle customer service on the product. You make the sale and get paid.

Getting Started
One of the first thing people new to Internet Marketing want to know about affiliate marketing is where do I find something to sell? Here is the first place I recommend you go - ClickBank. Go there and set up an account. It is free. The nice thing about ClickBank is they deal with electronic products and your commission should be 50%+.

You can also go to Amazon.com and set up an account to market the products they carry.

How Do I Sell These Products?
There are two basic ways to market affiliate products. The first is through direct links to the product sales page. You use your affiliate link to send prospective customers straight to the sales page and you let the sales page do the sales work.

The second method is to send people to your website (like the one you got for $10 at Powder River Domains). You put your own touch on a sales page and pre-sell the product. You have your affiliate link on your pre-sell page on your website to take interested customers to the product sales page where they can buy what you are selling.

Website promotion is where a lot of start to fail in Internet Marketing. Imagine if you built a new house, moved into it, and did not let any of your friends, relatives, banks, utilities know where you were. These people may be wanting to find you but they do not know where to look.

How do you get people to find what you have to offer on the Internet?

#1: Get listed in the major search engines. You can submit your site directly to the search engines or there are companies that will submit your website for you for a bunch of money and a monthly fee. Here is a tip to getting listed in the major search engines and get a head start on your Internet Marketing. Write an article or press release and publish it at an article submission site. The search engines will find your article with the link to your website and index it into their data bases. Save a bunch of money and get listed yourself.

#2: Article Submission: Write useful articles about things that people are searching for on topics related to your website.

#3: Blogs: Build a blog for your website. Search engines like blogs because they end up with a lot of content. When you post to your blog you get to create a link back to your website.

#4: Auto-Responder: Use an auto-responder to build an e-mail list of people that want to know what you know.

#5: Pay Per Click: If you are going to use Pay Per Click make sure you get the tools listed under affiliate marketing and READ THEM! Pay Per Click is a way to go broke fast if you are not careful.

Article Submission and Internet Marketing
Article Submission is an Internet Marketing tool that can be used to catapult your website into a top 10 listing on the first page of the natural rankings in the search engines. You can use article submission to dominate a niche market or drive tons of free traffic to your website. Article submission is free, simple and easy for even a novice. You do not need to have vast knowledge about search engine optimization, html or anything else.

Relevance and keywords are critical in article submission. What you write must be relevant to what you are promoting. When preparing to write an article you must choose keywords that are relevant to your product or service. Use those keywords in your article so the search engines will find that your article is relevant to the topic.

When selecting keywords to use in your article submission you want to select keywords that are relevant, searched for, and do not have a lot of competition. There are several keyword tools available that you can use to help select the best keywords to use in your articles. You want to achieve a keyword density of 4 to 7% and have the keywords spread throughout your article.

Some basic guidelines to use when searching for keywords to use. You need to want to find a keyword that has at least 300-3000 searches per month plus has few competing pages on Google. If you can find keywords with 500,000 competing pages that's okay. Keywords with under 100,000 competing pages are a good thing, and under 40,000 competition it is your lucky day.

Your articles need to be informative and not a bunch of nonsense. In the past you could do an article about anything, link it back to your site and get recognized. Now people are using the Internet more and more to get information and they will not waste their time reading junk. Make sure your article submission is useful information.

Why does article submission work?
Article submission works for several reasons. With each article you submit you get to create a link back to your website. This increases your link popularity which the search engines like. You can put your article on several of the free article submission sites. Here they can be read by others giving them the opportunity to click on the link back to your website. Your article submission can be picked up by the media or used as content by other websites. Here the link you created with your article submission gets posted on the website using your content which gets you another link back to your site and exposure to a new group of people.

Article Submission Tools
There are numerous pieces of article submission software that you can spend your money on. Like with any topic on the Internet most of the article submission products out there are produced by people that do not know what they are doing and the article submission products do not do what you need.

I do not use article submission tools. Search engines are smart and they do not like people that try to manipulate them. There may be an article submission tool out there that is not looked down on by the search engines, but I am not aware of any that I trust enough to recommend. I manually place my articles on a limited number for quality article submission sites.

E-mail marketing is a great way for you to build a relationship with potential customers. As was mentioned in the section on using traffic exchanges effectively, people are bombarded every day with spam and e-mails telling how they can get rich working 5 minutes a day.

Why should they believe what you have to say? You need to earn their trust. You do this by using an auto-responder to send out a series of messages, on a pre-determined schedule, related to your product(s) that provide accurate valuable information.

These e-mails will help you stand out from other Internet Marketers and establish yourself as someone that knows what they are talking about. Your customers will come to trust you. Remember, trust takes time to build but seconds to lose.

NOTE: Do not spam. Make sure people have requested to receive your messages.

There are two auto-responders I recommend. Both are reputable, affordable, reliable companies. You can run multiple e-mail series from one account at both places. Either one will get the job done for you.

The first one is Traffic Wave. This is the one that I personally use.

The second one is AWeber. This is a very popular with many people in the Internet marketing world.

Blogs have been around Internet marketing for a few years, and they are becoming more popular. The word blog evolved from the term web log.

What makes a blog a great tool for Internet Marketing is that blogs end up with a lot of content and they are updated frequently. With search engines relevant content is king.

I create blogs for my websites. I purchase a different domain name for my blog and the one I use for my main website. For example, one of my websites is www.SwissArmyKnifeMall.com. The blog I have created for that website is AboutSwissArmyKnives.

Post to your blog a minimum of once a week. Two, three or even more times each week is better. The key is consistently making a post. Don't make five posts in one week and then not do another one for the next month. The search engines will start to learn how frequently the content on your website changes and will revisit your site accordingly.

Make sure when you post to your blog that you create a link back to your main website in each post.

Internet Marketing tools. Pretty much every person on the Internet or involved with Internet Marketing needs a domain name, website, web hosting, e-mail and / or a blog.

Consider this - During the original gold rush, who really got rich? Those mining for gold or the merchants that sold the tools the miners needed? The merchants did.
