William R. Polk

On Juan Cole's Informed Comment site this week, William R. Polk laid out the evidence indicating that the United States will indeed launch a military strike against Iran, most probably before George W. Bush leaves office. Although the thought of president Bush going to war with Iran, even as he prepares to leave office seems to be far fetched, This article paints a very clear and disturbing picture of the Bush admistrations possible intentions.

War With Iran: What Would It Look Like?

A review of insider Francois Heisbourg's book "Iran, Le Choix des Armes"

"In an effort to show the world that the U.S. has not been paralyzed by its disastrous adventure in neighboring Iraq, on Aug. 16, 2008, Bush orders a massive aerial bombardment, flights of Tomahawk cruise missiles streaking from submarines and naval warships to strike Iranian command and control centers, ministries, telecommunications facilities and Iranian air defenses, especially Russian-made TOR M-1 missile emplacements, while B-2 stealth bombers destroy all access to the subterranean enrichment facilities at Natanz."

Yes, most definatly a wise choice!

Jayhopson says:

You Betcha... They will destroy the world as we know it if they get nukes. They have openly said so!

No Way, thats a dumb idea!

spirituality says:

I don't think it's all that likely that Iran will get nuclear weapons. If they do, they do have a right to as all major countries do. There is a big difference between having nuclear arms and using them. Even if Iran is making them (remember we all thought Iraq might be making them?), chances are they won't be using them. After all: no government has since world war 2.
