Biography of Isaac Mizrahi

Isaac Mizrahi was born in Brooklyn, New York on October the 14th, 1961.

He started his fashion experience by designing clothing for his mother and her friends. Isaac was never really sure what to do with his life. He enrolled in the High School of Performing Arts in acting and later fashion design at Parsons.

Isaac Mizrahi isn't just fashion, he's more than that. he appeared in some TV series and movies, examples include Sex and the City, Ugly Betty and The Practice.

His fashion debut was in 1987 when he launched his first clothing business. It earned him 3 CFDA Designer of the Year awards and a lot of recognition. In 2003 his first big line for Target saw the daylight, a line of woman's sportswear and accessories.
Since the beginning of 2008, Isaac Mizrahi is the new Creative Director for the Liz Claiborne brand.

What hasn't he designed ?

Isaac Mizrahi has designed several collections since his debut. His collections include dresses, tops, ladies shirts, pants, accessories, lingerie, shoes, handbags and much more. He has designed both for women and men.
Not only clothes, but also raw fabrics were designed for decoration.

Every material available can be turned into clothing. Wool, synthetic or silk clothes all become fabulous designs in the hands of Isaac.

Liz Claiborne

In 2008, Isaac Mizrahi became Creative Director for the Liz Claiborne brand. The brand is owned by Liz Claiborne Inc., owner of numerous successful and well known brands like Kate Spade, Juicy Couture, Lucky Brand Jeans and Mexx.

How to Have Style

Isaac Mizrahi didn't stop there. Acting and designing are his passions, and he wrote it all down in his first book. It will be released in October 2008.
