Itchy Red Mole

Most moles are usually black, dark brown or red in colour; they can be flat or elevated in appearance. For those that are predisposed to it, they can develop on the skin at the early years, usually by the age of twenty.

Moles are known to be benign entities. However there are some that can be quite harmful and itchy. The harmful and itchy red moles develop from existing benign moles; whereby they can easily start developing unnoticed till they reach a clinical stage, and requires urgent medical attention. So for those that are constantly plagued by moles, it is best to routinely visit the dermatologist to determine if they are becoming cancerous.

However, despite that red moles can grow unnoticeably malignant; there are symptoms that they generally exhibit that may prove their malignancy.

Moles contain inert cells that do not actively divide and have stopped growing. But if a mole changes colour and continues to grow, it shows a sign of malignancy. Inconsistency in shape and symmetry is also a sign of cancerous moles. Also itchy red moles that constantly cause skin-worry are likely to be a malignant skin growth.

Red moles grow spontaneously. They can be present at the foetal stage as inert lumps on the skin. But they may grow cancerous later as the individual grows. Once you notice that it is no more insensitive but itches, you should take appropriate measures to curb the harm that it poses.

Despite its cancerous nature, note that most itchy red moles at their early stage of development are essentially anti-inflammatory in nature. You can use anti-inflammatory drugs and creams to combat their growth at an early stage. There are other countless home remedies that may get rid of red moles. They have equally proven effective. However, once you notice that self-medication does not help, report the case to a dermatologist immediately.
