School's out for Joe Jonas, Class of 2008. "A big congratulations to Joe," brother Kevin Jonas, 20, said before a Los Angeles taping of MTV's new music show FNMTV on Friday. "He just graduated from high school. It happened yesterday so it's a big deal." Joe, 18, who took correspondence courses while touring, said he was relieved to have sent in his last high school assignment on Thursday. "I haven't heard from the school yet. But I'm officially done with the work," said Joe, who "played a concert" to celebrate.



The Brothers also revealed a few of their other future plans - including celebrating Nick's upcoming 16th birthday on the studio lot in Los Angeles where they will soon start filming their new Disney show, J.O.N.A.S.




Kevin, Joe, and Nick announced that they will be debuting the second single from their new album, Little Bit Longer, during the MTV Video Music Awards. The 2008 VMAs will air live from in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 7. "It's going to be an exciting performance," says Nick. "We're going to involve the fans in it."

The Jonas Brothers began with Nick being courted as a solo artist by Daylight/Columbia Records. But, when the record company discovered that many of Nick's songs were co-written by his brothers, Joe and Kevin were brought in. After an amazing in- studio performance, the direction was clear - the Jonas Brothers were born. Looking back on that experience, Nick says "It's awesome to have my brothers on stage and in the studio with me". "You have a security that everything is going to be okay, even when you mess up."

Kevin adds, "It feels like the most natural thing we could be doing. When we write a song we get in a triangle. I start playing the chords that we've chosen over and over and then we'll keep going around in a circle until we have figured out the lyrics for our song."

Their vocal chemistry is perfectly suited to today's style of music and each complement each other with their different vocal ranges and abilities. "Nicholas is the powerhouse vocal," says Joe. "He's just got this young, soulful voice that catches everyone's ear."

"Joseph just has this really cool, smooth rock voice," Nicholas counters. "He really knows how to get the crowd going. Kevin is the one that holds us all together. Joseph and I are the singers and we take turns on keyboards, and percussion, but Kevin mostly plays the guitar and that's the part of the group that we need--he's the glue that keeps it together."

What does the future hold for the Jonas Brothers? They all agree that they share the same vision: to collaborate for years to come. "We're brothers so it's not like if we got upset at each other that we can be like, 'Well I quit.' They're still my brothers. We love to do this and we know we're going to keep doing it for a very long time."

Most of the ideas for their songs come from their own personal lives. The ups and downs of dating, friendships, and their lives on the road tend to influence much of their material. Basically though, their music expresses their joy of living and infects their fans likewise.
