Jack Vettriano is a famous artist who was born in Scotland in 1953 to Italian parents. He started his career working as a mining engineer in the Scottish coalfields, only painting in his free time.

His work first came to public prominence at the Royal Scottish Academy open exhibition in 1988. Since then there have been sell-out exhibitions in Edinburgh, London, Hong Kong, Johannesburg and New York. Jack Vettriano images are a gateway to an alluring yet sinister world; a timeless place where past and present intertwine. It is a world heavy on atmosphere evoking the great noir movies and novels of our time; the drama of men and women is played out in each painting against a backdrop of bars and clubs, seaside and racetracks, ballrooms and bedrooms. Jack Vettriano sets the scene and invites the viewer to develop the narrative. Jack Vettriano has studios in Scotland and in London. He is represented exclusively by Portland Gallery. Contrast Group Biography Contrast is a trio with a rare instrumental combination. Its founding members, Kitty Cheung, violin; Timothy Sun, Saxophone; Jenny Ng, piano are graduated Masters students at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, United Kingdom. They came together in 2007 with the same vision of creating new sounds and giving the audience a new and exciting experience through their performances. Contrast often commission new works by many young composers such as Henry Ip, Sunny Lu, Florence Chan, Kim-kuok Ip and Ruth Chan . The group not only aims to expand their classical repertoire by premiering new pieces, members also do a lot of rearrangements and transciptions to make their programme more exciting.
