Jahorina is one of the highest and most beautiful mountains in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is one of the leading ski resorts of the former Yugoslavia, and Blkana, and is also one of most beautiful mountains in Europe. It is located in the vicinity of Sarajevo.

JahorinaJahorina is located in the central part of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is situated in the Dinaric mountain range %u010Cvrsnica, Prenj, Bjelasnica, Treskavica and Zelengore. Jahorina massive length is 30 kilometers. The highest peak is Ogorjelica (1916 meters).
The Jahorina clash of warm Mediterranean with cold continental air masses and therefore Jahorina has a favorable and healthy climate with temperatures that make summer and winter comfortable to stay. Such a climate is causing large amounts of snow and rainfall. During the year, snow falls 85 days. The average number of days with snow cover on Jahorina is 175 days; from October to late May. The thickness of snow cover can be from one meter to three meters. The average amount of snow from October to May is 106 cm. Quality of the snow makes it excellent for skiing.

The Jahorina, formerly known as the incredible beauty of the mountains, has a bloom that is associated with the XIV Olympic Games in Sarajevo (1984). For it was held in the female part of the alpine ski program.

The tourism winter season, depending on the snow precipitation, usually starts from 15 December and lasts until April 15.

Having skiers on more than 20 km groomed trails for alpine skiing linked to four lifts and four ski - lifts (one of them is the "baby" ski-lift). The total capacity of 7,500 skiers per hour, more modern ski school, ski service and ski rentals. Visitors are welcome to ski in the night on bright, well lit tracks.

The Jahorina the world skiing federation verified three competitive paths (slalom, giant slalom and downhill), which meet the requirements for international competitions.

When the snow melts and the crowd at the ski slopes dies down during Spring, Jahorina offers new opportunities for hikers, climbers, speleologists, hunters, fishermen, sportsmen and all those who need peace of untouched nature. Mountain springs, fragrant fields, the air that intoxicates.

Luxuriant vegetation covers Jahorina; bears, wolves, foxes, wild pigs, curses, rabbits, deer, pheasants, eagles and other wild animals along with freshwater trout cover this glorious scene. Jahorina is the perfect paradise for passionate hunters and fishermen.
