JFK: The Assassination And YOU

For those of us who lived through the Kennedy Assassination, and all of the assassinations of the 1960's, all I can say is--Bless Us.

I one time said to a 20 something, "At least you didn't have to live through those ungodly assassinations in the 1960's," and her response was, "I had to nurse my mother through her devastation after the assassination of John Lennon."

Yes, that is another Unspeakable Event.

James Douglass wrote the best book about the JFK Kennedy Assassination called: "JFK: And The Unspeakable."

Let me be clear--I love James Douglass. I simply cannot believe all of the synchronicities as to how we already know each other, through his celebrated friends, two of whom we my mother's spiritual mentors.

He will be on MoonMooYou: The Collective Wisdom on July 6 and August 3, 2010 at 6 PM EST.

I Speak To James Douglass On The Phone!

Dear God/ess, A few days ago, I spoke to James Douglass on the phone, author of "JFK: The Unspeakable." He will be on "Moon, Moo and You: The Collective Wisdom" 7/6/2010 & 8/3/2010 (Moon and Moo Are Pictured Here!!) discussing the premise of his book, which is: JFK was assassinated because he refused to to use nuclear weapons on Russia and Cuba. The cold war was raging at that time, so the people that were in power believed in a "strike first" policy, even if no one was even close to striking us.

I was so excited after speaking to James Douglass! I wanted to tell everyone I knew! First of all I noticed that so far, "JFK: The Unspeakable" had sold 25,000 books, and James Douglass does not have an internet connection, let alone a blog or website to sell his book(s).

He explained that Oliver Stone took the book on Bill Maher's TV show and said that it was the best book written about the JFK assassination. Bill Maher refused to say a word. So they spoke of other things. At the end of the show, Oliver Stone held up the book to the camera which zoomed in for a closeup. The book sold 10,000 the following week!

I asked Jim if he ever met Ammon Hennacy whom I've mentioned several times on this prayer blog, and who was active in the Catholic Worker movement.

Ammon called himself a "One Man Revolution," and also a "Roman Catholic Anarchist." He refused to pay the war tax in WWI and spent jail time for this. He was my mother's spiritual mentor and visited our home several times. We first met Ammon in 1957.

Jim said he met Ammon Hennacy in 1959 when Jim attended a lecture Ammon gave at a University. Afterwards, a group went for coffee, including Ammon and James.

James told Ammon that a year before, he submitted an article to the Catholic Worker Newspaper, but he never heard back about it, nor was it ever published.

Ammon didn't have much to say about it, but a few days later, the paper published the article.

Jim said Ammon was responsible for the beginning of his writing career. That was the first and only time James met Ammon.

For me, meeting James Douglass was an experience of pivotal life events coming full circle. Life seems to be like this more and more, for which I am thankful.

Om, Peace, Amen

How Can We Love As A Saint Loves?

Dear God/ess, As we pray with each in and out breath and welcome the beautiful month of May, I wanted to discuss the canonization of Dorothy Day, as seen from the perspective of James Douglass, author of "JFK: And The Unspeakable."

I wrote to him and asked him whether the Roman Catholic Church plans to canonize Dorothy Day.

He said it would be helpful to have Dorothy Day canonized as a Saint because she would be known more widely as a result, and DESERVES to be known widely, so that "others can realize God's Will as Dorothy did."

He said that she strenuously objected to being canonized, to be identified as a saint, because she thought she'd be easily dismissed that way.

Then he said, "She'd be more tolerant of a process that might actually help people discover God's revolution in this world as she did,"

I loved this part: "Dorthy inspired many people to what they would consider miracles in their own lives, because she saw God's awesome possibilities within them. A phrase she often used in speaking of someone was, "He (or she) is a wonder!"

"When a person knew that Dorothy saw that power or possibility in you- which was, of course, true- pushed you beyond your own poor sense of self to miraculous steps forward. That's why she was, in fact, a saint."

I am thinking about these words today. How can we support those around us so that they can feel God's will because of the Love we beam their way?

The Love we give is equal to the Love that a Saint gives.

Let us strive to give that quality of Love, even as we breath our prayers, today.

Om, Peace, Amen

The Assassination Trilogy

Dear God/ess, James Douglass agreed to be on MoonMooYou: The Collective Wisdom on 7/6/2010 and 8/3/2010. He sent me an article he wrote about the assassinations of Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, based on a lecture he gave. He is commissioned by his publishers to write a trilogy about the assassinations of the 1960's.

"JFK: The Unspeakable" is the first. The assassination of Malcolm X and MLK is the second. And the assassination of Robert Kennedy is the third.

I remember thinking when I was a child that one day, all of this information on these assassinations would be declassified, but I doubted I would ever be privy to this information, let alone have a radio show where a researcher and scholar on these assassinations would come on and discuss his discoveries.

I remember thinking, "Gosh, I'll be 60 years old when this information is revealed." That seemed light years away, at the time. Yet here I am, as young as I ever was, having this man, James Douglass on our show, with all the synchronicities involved and all the people we commonly know.

My favorite story about this is that James Douglass sold over 25.000 books without an Internet connection or a blog. This fact may shatter some of our hard earned assumptions about Internet Presences, key word research, and driving traffic to everything we do on the Internet.

And James Douglass writes letters. I haven't written a letter in years but now I am writing to him. It's called: A Correspondence. We are corresponding.

Perhaps I need to send him an article of mine!

In any case, this experience of meeting Jim Douglass is truly an adventure.

Next week I get to meet Joan Adams and her entire family. We are all so excited! I will be hard to contain this entire weekend.

The whole experience of meeting Joan feels like an epic event. I haven't taken a week long vacation in years. What does that say?

We don't need to belabor that point!

I am taking my computer and am planning to continue writing these prayers. Those prayers will surely be pure inspiration.

Om, Peace, Amen
