Who is Janiece? And what does she write about?
Welcome to my site! I'm glad you're here!
I am a member of Squidoo, an online group of people (called lensmasters) who make webpages (called lenses) for fun, business, charity, or just to share something with others. No matter the main focus of their lenses, many Squidoo lensmasters, including myself, give part of their earnings to charity. I donate a portion of all my Squidoo profits to the Cancer Research and Prevention Foundation.
But Squidoo is not all I do! I'm a wife, a mother, a daughter, a friend, or a teacher to many special people in my life. If you'd like to find out more about me, or about what I write for Squidoo, keep reading as that's what this lens is about!
In the picture above, I'm "flying" a model of the Wright Brother's Plane during a family vacation to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Rocketmoms!

I first joined Squidoo in Dec of 2008. In early June of 2009 I accepted an invitiation to join a group here on Squidoo called Rocketmoms. Rocketmoms is like school, a writer's group, and family, all rolled into one! Each week we are given a couple of writing assignments from which to choose, such as "Create a top 10 list," "Review A Restaurant," "Create A Travel Lens," or "Write a How-To Lens." The members all provide tips, suggestions, and encouragement to one another. Being a Rocketmom has really stretched me as it's gotten me to explore a variety of types of writing and lenses.
About Me
Who is Janiece, anyway?
I'm an author and a homeschooling mom. I love to read, write, listen to music, explore the topic of spirituality, sew, garden, camp, play board games, hike, and more!
Our first Rocketmom's Assignment was to create an "About Me" lens. If you'd like to know more about me, this is a great place to start! This lens is a collection of my most favorite quotes, as well as some of my thoughts and a few photographs I've taken. From this lens, I think you'll get an even better glimpse into who Janiece is.

A few things you may not know about me!
Nature, animals, the great outdoors!
1. I'm a vegetarian.
2. I love being out in nature, when it's not too hot! lol
3. I love both the mountains and the beach. My favorite's the mountains though! I also love gardens!
4. To me, there's nothing like hiking, relaxing or picnicking beside a cool mountain stream, especially one filled with beautiful moss covered rocks,... or sitting on a mountain peak, watching the birds soar, and looking out upon the ripples of mountains and valleys as far as the eye can see!
5. I enjoy tent camping and hiking.
6. I love animals. Our family currently has a dog, a cat, a bunny, and several frogs. We're hoping to get another dog soon! Update: Our new puppy has arrived! His name is Ben, and I'm going to tell you all about him soon! In his 5 months of life, he's already got quite a story!
Vegetarian Recipes
Here are some of my favorite vegetarian recipes!
My Cinnamon Apple Baked Beans Recipe is my most requested recipe by family members and friends. I often take it to potluck dinners, as well as serve it at home for a family dinner.
My Vegetarian Lasagna recipe is super easy to make since it doesn't require boiling the noodles. When you taste the final product, you'd never guess the noodles hadn't been boiled at all! Although I often serve this dish for special company, it makes a great "everyday" family dinner too! We really love it!
Minestrone Soup. Wow...how much I love this soup!
Corn, Bean, and Avocado Salsa is another one of our family favorites!
Click on one or more of the links below if you'd like to try some of my recipes.

About Squidoo

This page about me and what I write is a Squidoo lens. Squidoo is a company which provides free webspace for people to use to share their experiences and thoughts, sell things, post information online, create pages in honor of their new baby, share recipes, etc. The Squidoo lenses (mini websites) people write can be about anything they want...well, within reason, of course! They're lots of fun to write, and hey, you can even earn a little money in the process!
If you'd like to make a Squidoo lens yourself, feel free to contact me for more information, or click here to get started making a lens of your own.
But keep in mind, Squidoo is very addicting!!
