Jason Castro is the shy, dread headed contestant on American Idol season 7. Jason started his musical career as a drummer, but he also plays the guitar. Castro was accepted to go to Hollywood when he auditioned at the Dallas try outs.

Jason does not fit the mold of American Idol. He knows that, and probably feels trapped now. He is very talented and is the victim of AI. It is kind of a tragedy in a way. Jason needs to go out on a good note though. I hope he makes it through, but only if he wants to. I am disappointed in what has happened to Jason. It was painful because I know he has more to share.

American Idol is weird this year. The great ones, I fear have no careers in music. Would you buy a David Archuleta album? he is super talented and cute as a button, but I don't think that he has what it takes to make and sell millions.
But the question was, should jason castro be the next american idol. He should yes, but no. I don't think he will. He has a good voice, and a quiet passion. But I think his timid demeanor may prevent him from gaining that all important title. If he breaks out of his shell... I will break my 7 year not voting streak and give one for his team.
