Jasper McVain a forgotten rebel
Jasper McVain is an accomplished North American artist ,singer/song writer and indie producer with an enigmatic career that spans several decades. Not known for any significant commercial success in his native United States he was an important contributor to the nascent Canadian punk music scene of the late 1970's and influenced several artists who later found success in his native America. In Europe he is most respected for his work as a classical musician.Often compared in European as a "poor man's Chris Rhea" ,Chris Rhea has commented that he indeed is a Jasper McVain fan.
During the 1980's collaborated with the likes of Bob Bryden ,Art Bergmann before having success in music scores for several European indie films.Known as an artist's artist his underground releases of overwrought rock operas became highly collectible.His last American tour ended in Delaware summer of 1989
Jasper McVain productivity faded during the 1990's with his highest profile in years often erroneously linked to a studio contribution to the"Cooler Kids". He was also rumoured to have developed a close mentorship with the equally reclusive performer "Buckethead"and painter performer "Doc Hammer". Believed to be semi-retirement he has had a minor resurgence due to the "Venture Brothers" series which he has contributed a retro rock anthem "Revv me Up" and "Mitre Storm"
Jasper McVain fans are looking forward to the release of his most recent album whose working title is "TBMJ Preacher Preaches".

The Doc Hammer Hoax
Longtime friend of Jasper , famed oil painter Doc Hammer is often credited with the Hoax that he is indeed Jasper Mcvain.Started by a posting on Wiki sites that run on the "honour system" this rumour has since spread to several other sites.
Jasper has been quoted himself saying that its "like trying to take urine out of a pool".
Jasper and Doc Hammer have recently performed at several separate New York gigs claiming to be the other.Only adding to further confusion.
