Jessica Alba Bio
Let's Look At Jessica Alba's Body ... Of Work
Jessica Alba was born 28 April, 1981 in Pomona, California. Her father was a tennis player on the pro circuit before joining the Air Force. Her family moved to Biloxi, Mississippi but shortly afterwards, when Jessica was 3 years old, then moved back to California and then again to Del Rio, Texas. Finally returning to Southern California about 1990. Nine months after taking some acting lessons at age 12, Alba had an agent and had a part in the 1994 movie Camp Nowhere. She then had a couple of high profile commercials (Nintendo and J.C. Penney). That same year she won the role of the snobbish Jessica for 3 episodes of The Secret World of Alex Mack and then went right into making the TV series Flipper which ran from 1995-2000. Although Flipper lasted 5 years, Alba was there for only 2 years, playing Maya Graham for 11 episodes.
She made one very forgettable movie called Venus Rising in 1995. She then popped up for 2 episodes of the popular teen show Beverly Hills 90210 as Leanne. Her movie career started to take off at this point, with roles in Never Been Kissed with Drew Barrymore and as Molly in the horror spoof Idle Hands.
Then in 2000, Jessica Alba got the role of Maya Graham in Dark Angel. The show lasted for 2 years and Alba appeared in 42 episodes of the sci-fi thriller. Basically, she played Max, one of a group of genetically-enhanced children that escaped from a lab project. Years later, she works for a messenger service in the post-apocalyptic Pacific Northwest. Odd, but somewhat interesting.
Dark Angel: The Complete First Season

Dark Angel
The Complete First Season

Dark Angel: The Complete First Season
Jessica Alba is impressive as Max, bred and trained as a super-soldier but reclaiming her individual humanity; Michael Weatherly is scruffily attractive as Eyes Only, who sits semi-paralyzed in his eyrie above Seattle uncovering crime, corruption, and other skullduggeries and assigning deadly errands to the woman he hopelessly loves. Jon Savage has real authority as Lydeker, a man who has stretched his conscience to the breaking point, but is not personally corrupt.
Some of the best episodes--"Prodigy," for example--are ones in which Lydeker and Max are forced into temporary alliance.
Early on, the relationship between Max and the other workers at Jam Pony--the courier firm that provides her with a cover identity--is a little forced, but later on the two parts of Max's life are more successfully integrated: "Shorties in Love," for example, is a genuinely touching tale about Diamond, the doomed criminal ex-lover of Max's lesbian roommate. Dark Angel was never a perfect show, but at its occasional best it manages to be simultaneously funny and dramatic.

Sin City Trailer

Sin City
Unrated
(Two-Disc Collector's Edition)

Sin City: Unrated (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)The two-disc edition of Sin City easily makes the earlier single-disc theatrical-cut release obsolete by including the regular theatrical cut on the first disc, recutting the movie into four extended segments on the second disc (separated by story line), then piling on an impressive load of bonus features. But there's a catch. Billed as "Recut, Extended, Unrated," with "over 20 minutes" of new footage, the new set's four separate stories are extended by only about 6.5 total minutes of movie action (see details below in "What's New"); the rest of the added running time is the splashy new title shots (named by the title of the story or book) and the four minutes of credits that run at the end of each segment. Each addition makes the movie even closer to the comic books, and these extended segments are generally preferable to the theatrical equivalents (unfortunately, there's no Play All option), but don't expect the same impact as Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings extended editions. And although this version is unrated, the only risqué addition is a bit of violence from Miho that's no worse than the rest of the crazy violence in the film.
Alba In Sin City

Jessica Alba played an exotic dancer named Nancy in the movie Sin City (2005) and is in talks about appearing in the sequel, Sin City 2. The sequel was slated to begin filming in 2010, but has apparently been pushed back. Alba's character, Nancy Callahan, will be forced to deal with the death of Hartigan, the cop who saved her as a child and again years later in Sin City.

James Cameron's Dark Angel: The Complete Second Season

James Cameron's Dark Angel:
The Complete Second Season

James Cameron's Dark Angel: The Complete Second Season
The second and last season of Dark Angel, the inventive James Cameron show about mutants during a future Depression, has some real strengths as well as one or two bad ideas that partly explain its much-regretted cancellation. Among the strengths are Alex (Jensen Ackles), the thoroughly unreliable mutant charmer whose flirtations with heroine Max (Jessica Alba) complicate her doomed love for Logan (Michael Weatherly), the crippled newshound whom she cannot now even touch--she has been infected with a deadly virus tailored specifically to kill him.
The distrust this sows between the doomed couple does not always avoid soap-opera clichés, but often produces fine performances from all three, especially Alba.
On the deficit side, John Savage's memorably ambiguous villain Lydeker from season 1 (who is alternately the mutants' nemesis and their protector) disappears to be replaced by the melodramatically sinister Agent White (Martin Cummins).

The Love Guru

The Love Guru
(Single-Disc Edition)

Guru Pitka (Mike Myers) has built a reputation as love advisor par excellence--but he's still just America's #2 guru, after Deepak Chopra. Finally an opportunity comes his way: If he can heal the rift between a star hockey player (Romany Marco, Weeds) and his wife (Meagan Good, Stomp the Yard), he can appear on Oprah. But when he meets the hockey team's comely owner (Jessica Alba), Pitka realizes he must solve his own love problems as well.
The Austin Powers movies were pretty much the same sort of lowbrow comedy grab-bag; though the ratio of good to bad might be weaker here, a good handful of bits offer solid laughs, including some mock-Bollywood musical numbers. Also featuring pop star Justin Timberlake (as a preposterously well-endowed French-Canadian), Ben Kingsley (as Pitka's cross-eyed mentor), Stephen Colbert (as a drug-addled sports announcer), as well as numerous celebrity cameos

With the help of Dr. Paul Faulkner (Alessandro Nivola), she travels to Mexico to find out more about her donor and to try to discover the meaning of her scary visions.
