Whitby Wyrm
Whitby is a town in Yorkshire, England and the Whitby Wyrm is a dragon that apparently was disturbed during the building of the Whitby Abbey.
As the story goes, this fire-breathing Wyrm tried to destroy the town but was banished into the sea, only to return every seven years when he claws at the cliff on which the abbey stands, attempting to drag it into the sea, I guess without success, at least so far!
The Whitby Wrym has inspired artists, and the art has inspired jewelry.
