Life Is An Adventure II

In Life Is An Adventure Part 1 I explained how Bella and I happened to find ourselves living in a 30' RV. It has been an amazing and very busy summer for High Desert Technologies and now we are preparing ourselves to face another winter. We were able to move the trailer to a little nicer spot with a front yard that isn't looking into the side of another trailer. I purchased a 10' X 24' outdoor carpet which also made things a little nicer. We were also able to get a larger propane tank that will not only last longer between fill ups, but will allow the propane to be delivered to us.
I still have a little preparation to do such as checking the insulation under the trailer and making sure the heat tape is protecting the water line into the trailer. We have been talking about enclosing the bottom of the trailer with some kind of skirting. Any ideas? We have a slide out which houses the dining area. I am going to try to put some rigid foam insulation on the sides, top, and bottom as well as try to "rig" a way for the snow n' such off of the roof of the slide out. I also am going to try to put some heat tape on the gate of the black tank to keep it from freezing. Last winter I had to place a small propane radiant heater under the gate for the black tank each time it was time to dump the tank.
It seems like the trailer has gotten smaller over the summer. We actually did some modifications to the office to enable us to add a 2 drawer file cabinet. We was then able to move the printer to the top of the file cabinet which gave us fifteen more inches of table top space.
Murphy the cat likes to lay on top of the printer. She only grumbles when the printer starts up as she knows she has to move.

Murphy's Point of View
It is kind of difficult to know what Murphy thinks about all of this. It has definitely put a damper on her life. See, Murphy is an indoor only cat. She knows where she is not allowed to go and she is pretty good about minding. Otherwise, she is totally spoiled and pretty much has the run of the house.
She likes to get in the cabinets above the bed when we are watching TV. It seems like she is watching TV too. Occasionally she leans out and looks down and looks at us and then jumps out of the cabinet and gallops to the other end of the trailer. Of course, usually when she jumps out she lands in the middle of one of us. I think she plans it that way.
In the middle of the night I can feel her trying to quietly move up on the bed to find a comfortable spot. She may or may not understand when she walks up the bed along the highest spot, she is usually walking up my leg. Then she plops down and leans against us. She definitely has a personality.
Murphy has started to greet us when we come home. Of course all of the windows are open during the day when we are gone so when I pull up and get out of the truck I can hear her talking to me. She needs her attention when I open the door to walk in. She usually plops down on the floor in my path and rolls over on her back. When Bella comes home the whole process repeats itself.
Stay tuned for further updates. Keep smiling, life is and adventure.
