My Inspiration
Jim Abbott was a major league baseball pitcher who was born without a right hand. He worked through this disability and became a great baseball pitcher, going straight from college to the Majors and pitching a no-hitter. Although he had some lowlights, he will always be remembered as a great pitcher and, more so, a great inspiration to all.
Important!
Jim Abbott
Jim Abbott is proof that anyone can do whatever they want, no matter what. He overcame all odds to become a major league baseball pitcher. No one believed he could do it, but he just kept trying and fighting because HE believed he could do it. In the end, no one could stop him because he wouldn't let anyone.

My Favorite Jim Abbott Quotes
"I worked very hard. I felt I could play the game. The only thing that could stop me was myself."
"There are millions of people out there ignoring disabilities and accomplishing incredible feats. I learned you can learn to do things differently, but do them just as well. I've learned that it's not the disability that defines you, it's how you deal with the challenges the disability presents you with. And I've learned that we have an obligation to the abilities we DO have, not the disability."
"People will tell you that I overcame obstacles%u2026maybe. But the truth is I was incredibly blessed in my life. More was given than was ever taken away."

- A good pitcher that I followed from his UM days and saw him pitch there. He didn't let it get in the way (his perceived disability) and was a good competitor but a nice man as well. He overcame the obstacles and naysayers to pitch in the MLB. Was a little above average as a MLB pitcher and won't get into the HOF but is an inspiration to all. Nice lens on a great person.

- Just goes to show you that 'Life has NO Limits' if you are determined enough. Good for Jim Abbots in pursuing his love of baseball and becoming a Major League pitcher despite having only one hand. Lensrolled to my Perfect Game Pitchers lens.
