ALL ABOUT MY JINDO DOGS

This is one of my Jindo puppies his name is blue sky. In my first lens I started describing part of my misfortunes with getting a dog in to my life, But now I have plenty of love from my Jindos, and there lovely puppies. I received my first 5 dogs as a gift from my grandfather. When him and my grandmother moved away he had given me his prize Jindos, (from North Korea.) I had already been around the dogs most my life and at times lived with my grandparents so it was like old family. But you should see them know, my lovely fellie and Radar have had 27 pupies!!!!!
And this lens is going to be all about them. BUT I'M GOING TO FINISH IT LATER SO COME BACK SOON.

Frequently asked Question and Answers

Is that alot of work?

Jindos are very demanding dogs, I would say I spend about 18 hrs a day AWAKE with them.
I sometimes don't get to sleep just taking care of there basic needs (and mine.) and work. This is because I have 27 puppies, but before this I still spent alot of time with the adults. Maybe 10hrs. a day or more they come w/ me everywhere, and if I'm not right at home with them there someone else is. Now all but 3 puppies have new homes and will be leaving in 2 weeks, so this will change my schedule a bit.

Walk much?

Yup!!!! If your not up for running around in your yard for 2 hours a day, you really should take around 3 short walks a day with your pup. Alot of dog owners disagree with the 3 walks a day thing, but the truth is if they were in the wild they would be walking almost all day.

Do you still have a job?

Yes I do, fortunately I live 5 min. away from work. So I can drive there on call, and come right back. I also sell fine art and related things on a website: www.lightboxideas.com but it is under some major construction so you might want to look at it later on in about a month from now.

Are you keeping them all?

Well I would like to, but it would be better for them to spread out and have more 1 on 1 attention.
I do spend allot of time with them but this still will not fulfill there growing needs. It's really hard to spend time with each one separately, mostly they stay in a group or "pack" so it's hard to tell if one of them might feel left out. I have arranged a way of selling them on the internet, through a breeders site. I will explain more in the next box.

Back to the Question

I will be selling some of them. However I will only sell them to an individual or family, whom I deem is of fit circumstances. I know this sounds unfair of me but it is in the puppies best interest, and the new owners who might not understand the physical or financial demands of such an animal. This is why I try and break the ice. I have posted them on this site: WWW.BREEDERINFOCENTER.COM
They are under find a dog breed, then click on jindo. I think I am the only listed breeder as of now.

Yawn!!!

Tan or Red with black and white markings, Tan with black masks black feet, 10 total puppies left.
About the Jindo:
Jindos are medium sized, spitz-type dogs, approximately 40 pounds in weight.
Full growth is attained fairly young, although they are not fully mature until
two years of age. Their ears are prick and stand up between 4 and 6 months of
age, their coat is medium length and dense, and their tails are plumed and
curled up over their hind quarters.
The Jindo is a fiercely loyal dog. They are single master dogs and will not do well
in a second home. A Jindo has been known to return to its original abode,
however far away it has been relocated so great thought needs to be
undertaken before committing oneself to ownership.
Ideal hunters, these dogs would do very well left in a natural habitat. They are
used by hunters as an only weapon, and they can bring down prey as large as
deer. The Jindo is a cautious, independent thinker and not the dog for
everyone. The Korean Jindo dog, also known as the Chindo, or Jindo Gae, is an
original, wild breed from Jindo Island in Korea, and is internationally protected
as a Natural Treasure. It is unknown how the dogs first got to Jindo Island, but
Jindoes have survived and prospered for many centuries on their own.
While the Jindo comes in many colours, white, black, fawn, brindle or black and
tan, only the solid white and the solid fawn Jindos are a protected species.

we have a female jindo that we got from a local shelter about 2 1/2 years ago. she's probably between 5 and 6 years old. she is the greatest dog we have ever owned! i don't see how anyone could have let her go. but, unfortunately, she gets VERY jealous and we could not have another dog. i wish we could take on one of your puppies, i just don't think Leni would ever allow it. thank you for all of the great Jindo information.
