Talent is Never Enough

13 Choices that will take you beyond your talent
1) Belief Lifts Your Talent - When you believe in yourself and believe in your skills you will become better at anything you do.
2) Passion Energizes Your Talent - As John C. Maxwell says, "I've never met a passionate person who didn't have energy." When we have passion we have energy to do more and accomplish more. Our passion is also transferred to others.

3) Initiative Activates Your Talent - You can have all the talent in the world, but if you don't take the initiative to work hard and go for what you want, you will never activate your true talent.
4) Focus Directs Your Talent - Have you ever met someone who can't sit still? They are constantly going from task to task, never getting anything done. When we take the time to focus our talent in a specific area, we develop and improve our talent.
5) Preparation Positions Your Talent - The more you prepare and work hard, the more your talent is going to be used.
6) Practice Sharpens Your Talent - Practicing and developing your talent is what gets your talent going.
7) Perseverance Sustains Your Talent - Talent will only take you so far, and it takes perseverance to go farther. Persistence is what helps you make it through the difficult times.
8) Courage Tests Your Talent - In this chapter John talks about courage and how it tests your talent. Courage tests your talent to see if you are truly committed to the outcome you want.
9) Teachability Expands Your Talent - We can always improve, and one of the best ways that we can improve is to allow others to teach us what they know.
10) Character Protects Your Talent - Let's face it, times are going to be tough. We will be tempted and tested, and this is when character is what helps your talent.
11) Relationships Influence Your Talent - John C. Maxwell tells the story of Johnny Cash in this chapter and the power of the relationship of his wife who helped him get off of drugs.
12)Responsibility Strengthens Your Talent - As a person of talent, you have a responsibility to use that talent, not just to yourself but to the people around you.
13) Teamwork Multiplies Your Talent - When you learn to work with other people on your team who also have talent, you are multiplying your talent.
I'm honest when I say Talent is Never Enough is one of my favorite books from John C. Maxwell. Second only to his book, The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership.
Hopefully you've learned something to help you ignite your talent and have it take you farther than you ever thought you could go!
