John Carlton and Me

In 1990, I worked as a copywriter at Gary Halbert's "Seminar by the Sea" in Key West, writing sales letters for Gary's clients. I was a novice. Anything I did had to be approved by John Carlton. Oh. My. God! I learned for the first time that you must have a very good reason for every word you put on paper. As John critiqued my writing, after every sentence he would ask, "So what?" ... meaning that sentence could be tossed out and the piece would lose nothing. It was a humbling experience ... but outstanding instruction.

About rden

Hi. My name is Richard. I drove a bus on Miami Beach for 16 years. I loved driving across the MacArthur Causeway and seeing the sunrise every morning - took my breath away.

But I hated having a boss. I hated working 65-70 hours a week for years, just to make ends meet. My kids were growing up, but I wasn't there.

I hated the pain. My right knee throbbed when I drove. I'd stick it into the aisle and use my left foot on the gas & brake. Sometimes somone would get on the bus, look at my leg in the aisle and say, "No! Stop! Let me out of here!"

Worst of all, I saw a lot of drivers who even put in 30 years and STILL couldn't retire, because the pension would be a big pay cut. So they'd drive a few more years, then drop dead. There was no other way out.

So I went a different direction. Now I do online social networking full-time, and earn a good living from it. It's something anyone can do. If you want me to show you how, message me.
