Ranked #1,041 in Movies & TV, #28,911 overall

John Cusack is the most under rated actor in Hollywood. We rarely see him in public yet he remains one of the top movie makers of our time. John Cusack is a very private person, but his work speaks for itself. His witty, sardonic, ironic, dry humour shines through in his characters. He protrays the ultimate underdog with class and humor.

So here is a Squidoo dedicated to the work of John Cusack. We'll keep his personal life personal and celebrate his movies!

Here are my top 10 favorite John Cusack movies.

My Top 10 John Cusack Movies

High Fidelity
This is quite possibly the greatest movie ever made. The top 5 list of girlfriends, Jack Black, The Beta Band. This movie is witty, funny and really, really honest. My absolute favorite.
Grosse Pointe Blank
A funny 1990's classic. We follow Martin Q. Blank back to his high school reunion. He's now a a professional assassin sent to his home town to do a "job". Finding himself in love with his former girlfriend Minnie Driver he must prove himself without getting anyone killed in the process. The "Assassin's Union" sequence is hysterical.
Sixteen Candles
Yes I know it was a bit part. But John Cusack as the really, really nerdy Bryce is hysterical. The part where they are trying to take a picture of Farmer Ted and Caroline in the backseat of the Rolls is classic. Bryce wants to use black and white film for that extra touch.
Must Love Dogs
A goofy romantic comedy. The perfect date movie.
Say Anything...
"To know Lloyd Dobler is to love him." Women in the 1980's were so lucky to have such an awesome romantic hero. This movie is truly a classic winner. Ione Skye is one of my all time favorite Girl Geeks. Kudos to Peter Gabriel for the soundtrack song too!
Better Off Dead...
This classic 1980's movie is so entertaining. Lane Meyer has an insane family, weird friends (Curtis Armstrong) and a homicidal paper boy after him. This is one of my husbands favorite movies.
Eight Men Out
I am not a sports person but this is a really good movie. An excellent drama about a very important moment in history.
Con Air
This is a really good action movie. Thrilling, exciting and we get to see John Cusack work with Nicolas Cage. What more could a girl ask for?
The Sure Thing
Yeah I know, I'm stuck in the 1980's. But hey I really, really liked this movie. John is at his sarcastic best. Down and out and on his way to LA to claim his "Sure Thing" an adventure ensues. Finally Gib finds that he really loves Girl Geek Alison Bradbury and lives happily ever after. OK maybe not, but it's a cute movie.
Pushing Tin
Last but not least, Pushing Tin rounds out my Top 10 for it's comic absurdity. Plus I really like Billy Bob Thorton.

Great list! It was hard to pick a favorite, but High Fidelity came up on top for me!

What a fun lens! I love John Cusack. You're right, though, he doesn't get nearly as much credit as he deserves. There were a lot of great movies on your list, but I think The Sure Thing is my favorite, followed closely by Serendipity. I might have to check out some of the others. Thanks for the ideas!

The Jack Bull was missing from your list. I added it. Hope it appears. I will lensroll this good lens about one of my favorite actors to my Jack Bull lens, a Cusack western. Yes, John riding a horse!

Well done for not mentioning the awful Serendipity..! I do love Cusack's early work, especially his 80s teen movies like The Sure Thing, Class, Better Off Dead, Hot Pursuit, and One Crazy Summer.
