My Superhero, John Maxwell

My new friend at Squidoo invited me to participate in this great contest to fundraise money for my nonprofit program, A Day of Hope.

So,
My Superhero is John Maxwell. I'm not sure where to start to describe John's impact on me, but he has truly made a difference in my life that is so significant it's difficult to describe.

Read more below as I tell my story about how John has shaped my life and career into what it has become.

My John Maxwell is a my Superhero

In 2005 I founded my program, A Day of Hope. We are a group of people who work together to feed families in need of food for Thanksgiving. These are families who are going through some difficult times, and need some assistance to provide their families a Thanksgiving meal.

In three years of A Day of Hope, we have been able to successfully feed 415 famalies, which means over 2,000 people have had the pleasure of eating a Thanksgiving meal who wouldn't otherwise have had a meal.

As the founder and leader of A Day of Hope, I have a lot of responsibility. Our success depends on my ability to be a leader who motivates our volunteers and who can successfully fundraise money.

This is where John became my Superhero. As a 19 year old kid who founded his own program, it was John's leadership books and seminars that have helped me to lead A Day of Hope to the success that we've had.

If it wasn't for John's leadership resources, there is no way we would have been able to feed as many families as we have.

John, if you and I were sitting face to face, I would say, "Thank you."
