WebProsperity Review

David D'Arcangelo's WebProsperity launched officially on January 13th, 2009. People who sign up and pay for their first month before the 30th of January (so that's the 29th for you procrastinators!) will lock in their prelaunch position and possibly receive hundreds, if not thousands of members from their sponsors.

I went ahead and signed up on the day of the launch, January 13th, in order to begin trying out the software tools.

First, I want to note that members who sign up with the intention of building a business are given three important tools that are generally unavailable with other MLM products - the ability to customize your landing page, check your statistics, and also a set of marketing tools (banners, email ads and videos). In addition to that come the suite of six tools.

Here is my experience with each of the six tools:

1. The Contact Tool

• Email: three HTML templates (including a blank) for emailing your downline
  
• Broadcast message: ability to create, save and send out a broadcast message
• Autoresponders: manage the 6 autoresponder messages that automatically go out to your list (note: you have to select "advanced mode" to see these)
  
• Campaign settings: change settings in your autoresponder campaigns including the language (English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish), the 'from' field, the reply-to email, the confirmation message and the template (choice of 12 that are specific to different needs including 'information request', 'ebook request' and others). You can also track your subscribers, and even get a weekly report of new subscribers emailed to you!

2. The Media Tool

• Record and manage audio and video on the web (yes, without having any software installed on your computer). You can also upload files, or record over the phone!
  
• Create and manage photo galleries
  
• Upload and manage documents

3. The Meeting Tool

• Create teleconference meetings over the phone or on the web
  
• Use video, audio, or both - so people can actually see your face!
  
• Share powerpoint presentations
  
• Share a whiteboard with other presenters (pretty cool function!)
  
• Share a chat box with participants (i.e., for questions) or with other presenters only.
  

Full review of the meeting tool: It took me about
15 minutes to figure it out, but I was able to get the webinar going. I
was able to get video, audio and a whiteboard going, though I didn't
try the presentation portion. Also got the phone to work, but I had
to dial in as a presenter for the callers to hear me (they couldn't
listen on the phone if I was just presenting on the web). Could be
that I just haven't figured it out yet, but that's 15 minutes of
tinkering.

When I actually set up the conference, it gave me a link for
presenters and for participants, so that I was able to invite people
to be either. Same with the phone pin. It also gave me the option to
email my WP downline (but not to send out an email to outside people;
I think I would have to blast an email to my aweber list).

What I liked was the shared whiteboard, along with a chat window for
people to ask questions while I present. What I didn't like was that
(unless I just didn't find it), it didn't give me the option to share
my actual screen like gotowebinar does. That means I can't actually
show people how to do stuff real-time; I'd have to create a
presentation first it seems.

What I also liked about this is that I was able to have webinars with people who are NOT members of WebProsperity. That means I can use it for all my online business dealings, not just WebProsperity!

4. The Calendar tool

• Organize by day/week/month/year
  
• Print function
  
• Easy to add events
  

I think this is supposed to have a function to send you reminders when something is due, but I haven't taken the time to look for it. Will update when I start using it more.

5. The Finder tool
I'll update this one when it becomes operational (after the 30th). Apparently, you're supposed to be able to scan through your downline in a very graphical way - should be an easy way to see where you need to focus your efforts or if you need to recognize someone for building a huge sales force for you.

6. The Address Book

• Add contacts manually or upload via CSV or vCard
  
• Create, rename or remove groups and organize contacts by group
  
• Search contacts alphabetically or in a search bar - including the ability to search within a particular group
  
• Functions for contacts: move to another group, add a calendar event, create a conference room, send a broadcast message, download vCard, or remove from group.
  

What I like about the address book is that it allows you to manage contacts that are not unique to your WebProsperity business. What I need to find out more about is whether I can set up a campaign for non-WebProsperity businesses. Will update this review when I figure that one out :)
