My Story: Civically Minded, Hardworking, and Service Oriented

I have always been civic minded. I began participating in the civic life of the nation in high school by writing letters to elected officials. In college I volunteered for several campaigns and interned for the Cook County Republican Party.

I am hardworking. I worked hard to get through college with a learning disability. i graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from DePaul University in November of 2007. Currently, I am pursuing an jMPA degree at the Keller Graduate School of Management. I also work hard as a Public Relations intern at the Heartland Institute.

I have also always been service oriented. I interned for Sen. Richard J.Durbin and volunteered for the Sherman Rehabilitation Center. Politics and public service are my passion and Squidoo is my way of sharing it with the world.

I also engage in blogging and Squidoo and blogging do go well together. I keep my own blogs and also watch others.

A Few of My Other Favorite Things:
I am addicted to blogging. I use blogs for everything from commenting on life in general to my academic exploits, to sharing my faith.

My personal blog Heart, Mind, Soul & Conscience, my evangelism blog is Faith, Grace, Salt & Light, and my academic portal-log is Krafty Keller Student.

I enjoy and get satisfaction out of my job. I have created a blog, Heartland Institute Publications where I republish articles from the Institute's website to spread the word and get the message out.

I enjoy politics, although I do not enjoy how campaigns are run. I also have a deep interest in government. To this end I have a blog, Citizen Governor, that provides news and my center-right commentary. I also have a collection of lenses which follow different U.S. Senators. In particular I am a supporter of Sen. Lindsey Graham and have a category on Citizen Governor for posts about Lindsey Graham. This category operates like a sub-blog.

I may have a variety of interests, but I can write in-depth about each of them. You can check my blog feeds below. Please stop by and say Hi.

My short attention span (Adult ADD?) is part of the reason I have to be involved with many projects at once. However, my one criteria is that all or most of the projects be related. Many times I will write a blog post and if I believe the subject merits a lens I will make one about the topic.

How My Oddessy at Squidoo Began...

The first lens I ever made was about Sen. Lindsey Graham. This was the lens that got me profiled by Squidoo. This has led me to make multiple lenses about political candidates, parties, issues and officials.

I am also reviewing the Supreme Court's decision and am disappointed in your over reaction to it. The one tweak that may be needed to satisfy the Court is to allow the review to be a habeas review.
Liberal or Conservative?: The use of Political labels to smear candidates
It is now the fashionable order of the day to use the political labels such as liberal or conservative as a smear for a person inside your group that thinks differently on major issues.

Discussions of politics and governing with a moderate approach and according to conservative principles as a card-carrying republican.

I am a card-carrying republican and subscribe to most of the platform although I would take a more moderate approach to enacting the policies. The policies would be formed around conservative principles.
