Family Movies: Jump In with Corbin Bleu

A Brooklyn teen must make a tough decision between doing what he loves and doing what his father and friends think he should do.

Izzy (Corbin Bleu) is a boxer who fights to please his dad and himself, or so he thinks, until he is asked to trade in his boxing gloves for a jump rope after discovering that he has a special knack for the Double Dutch.

Asked to join a team of girls lead by his neighbour Mary (Keke Palmer), Izzy discovers that skipping rope on the sidewalk is as much fun as sparring in the ring.

Add to this a mix of the school bully who isn't all that he seems, a father that has high expectations for him, friends who just do not understand his new talent and things become vey complicated very quickly for Izzy.

Making the transition from a solo sport to a team sport isn't easy, and now in order to prove that he can keep up with the best Izzy will be forced to chose to walk his own way.

Bleu was born in Brooklyn, New York City. He is the son of David Reivers, who is an actors. His father acts alongside him in "Jump in". He is biracial since his father is Jamaican American and his mother Martha is Italian American. Bleu is a graduated from Los Angeles County High School for the Arts.

Bleu started a career infront of the camera young modelling for clients such as Target, Toys R Us and Tommy Hilfiger. He gained roles in Er and on the TV series High Incident in 1996 soon after his family relocated to Los Angeles. Bleu also had small roles in films such as Soldier, Family Tree, Mystery Men and Galaxy Quest. In 2004 he took the lead role in the film, Catch That Kid. Then signed to star in Flight 29 Down, a drama series about a group of teens stranded on an island. He also had a small role as Spencer on Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide on Nickelodeon

He is probably best known for his supporting role as "Chad" in the very successful 2006 film High School Musical, Bleu has also guest starred in the premiere episode of Disney's Hannah Montana. Come 2007 Bleu's starred in our reviewed film Jump In! Here he co-starred with R&B vocalist Keke Palmer and as we have already mentioned his father. Jump In has since become one of the highest rated Disney Channel Original Movies of all time.

In May 2007 Bleu released his debut album, Another Side.

On top of all of this Bleu toured with fellow HSM cast members from late November 2006 to late January 2007 in High School Musical: The Concert performing at about 40 different cities.

Bleu has also performed alongside the likes of Aly & AJ, Drake Bell, and Bianca Ryan.
