The Ka Bar Mule folding knife was introduced in 2004 by Ka-Bar Knives Inc. Weighing in at half a pound the Ka-Bar Mule Folder is a heavy duty knife with nice sturdy construction.

Ka-Bar Mule Drop Point Knives

Ka Bar Mule folding knife

The Ka-bar Mule comes in two different styles. The first being the drop point. It measures 5 1/4" closed and 9 1/16" when open. It has a lockback style locking mechanism and comes with a pocket clip attached to the handle.

The handle is made of Zytel which is basically a type of fiberglass filled nylon. Many knife companies use Zytel as their handle material because of it's durability. The Ka-bar Mule has additional rubber inserts to help with gripping the handle.

This knife has a Teflon coated AUS8A stainless steel hollow ground drop point style blade. And it also comes with a plain or serrated edge.

The Ka bar Mule folding knife with the drop point style blade comes in two colors, black and desert tan. They come with cordura nylon sheaths that are the same color as the knives.

Ka-Bar Mule Tanto Folding Knives

The other style of the Ka Bar Mule is the Tanto blade. The stats remain the same on this knife but you do get the additional color Foliage Green. As I understand it they don't make the Foliage Green Mule Tanto knife in a drop point style. Although I don't have a picture of it, they do make a serrated version of this knife.

These knives also come with plain or serrated blades. One thing about this style of folding knife to consider, if you've never owned one, is that they are more difficult to sharpen. Especially if it is the serrated version. You need special sharpening stones to sharpen the serrated section of the knife.
