After Jasmine made the mini-math office, which is close to a lapbook, I started finding all these lenses about lapbooking. I had bought a package of file folders. I watched her interest in building the math office and thought this is it! Why didn't I know about these things years ago? Lapbooks are an awesome learning tool. Jasmine has trouble concentrating unless it's something she is in to.

Lapbooks hold the child's interest because they are making it on something they are interested in. They are also fun to build. It's even fun to find the information and photos that you want for your lapbook.

I am making our firist lapbook in to it's own lenses, but probably will put future ones all in to one lens that I can update each time we make a new one.

Kansas was my choice this time around. January 29th marked Kansas' 148th birthday. There were lots of great things in the newspaper and that's what got my mind to thinking that a lapbook on Kansas should be the first one that we do.
