Kara DioGuardi: Former American Idol Judge
As far as television is concerned, she joined the Bravo series Platinum Hit in May 2011 as one of the judges overseeing singer/songwriter competitors to an ultimate $100,000 first prize, along with a recording and publishing deal. She has also appeared as herself in episodes of Sesame Street, The Simpsons and Hannah Montana.
As of September 2011, Ms. DioGuardi switched from the pop world to musical theater when she appeared as Roxie Hart in a Broadway revival of Chicago. Her run in the part continued until October 30.

A Brief Biography
Ms DioGuardi (born December 9, 1970) is the singer, record producer and songwriter who joined Season 8 of American Idol, as the then new fourth judge, but who left before the start of Season 10. Her credentials include collaborations with many of the American Idol winners and runners-up, and therefore appeared to qualify her as the perfect choice to add to the panel of judges for the 2009 Idol season.
In the past, DioGuardi has worked with some of the biggest pop acts, including Celine Dion, Enrique Iglesias, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Santana and Faith Hill.
Around 2004, she was also involved in a project called Platinum Weird, in partnership with David A. Stewart of Eurythmics fame.

This is simply one of the best pop albums of 2006. Every song is memorable and instantly recognizable, and Dave Stewart's guitar work is quite masterful. For any fan of Stewart, it's great to see he's found another fine vocalist as a partner. Although she does not quite match Lennox's richness as a vocalist, Kara DioGuardi's performance is spellbinding in that she can totally disguise herself into two different styles and do so with amazing success.

- I am always the last to know! I had no idea that Kara was leaving! or Ellen, to tell the truth. I knew Simon was leaving. Wonder how they will recoup after all that?

I'm surprised. He was the one we all "love to hate" as the saying goes. It seemed that if Simon liked something you knew it was top shelf. So hard to please...
I was AT the American Idol auditions in the summer of 2010 in Nashville TN (MY daughter was trying out for the show). Sure was an exciting trip.

- Actually they could replace Paula and Simon from what I've seen. (I don't actually watch the show) Hope Kara fits in well!
