Just Showing Off My Stuff!

A little introduction to my world of handbags and accessories made from recycled and vintage materials. They are never the same twice (except for that striped GAP sweater I've purchased 3 times from the Goodwill!) and continue to inspire me to create.

Recycling Sweaters is Fun

Living in the South, it is too hot to wear all those beautiful wool sweaters I find at the thrift stores and such. I started making them into purses in 2007 and got completely hooked. Just throw a wool sweater in the washer and watch it felt into a beautiful, dense and stain resistant fabric perfect to be turned into a handbag.
Felting is just a fancy way of saying shrinking, we have all done it at one time or another. Go for it, shrink a sweater and give it another life.
