Fine Silver Handcrafted jewelry

Handcrafted Silver Jewelry

Hello! I am the owner and designer at Katherine Kouture Jewelry. I proudly donate a portion of every purchase to breast cancer research. I want to educate everyone on the materials I use, because everyone likes to know what they are getting out of their products.

The main material I use in most of my work is fine silver, also known as precious metal clay. In this lense you will find all the facts about precious metal clay, as well as the techniques you can use with it. Although I won't cover all the techniques in detail, I will eventually be adding links to other lenses that do cover each technique on it's own.

What's fine silver you ask?

An explanation of fine silver for your learning knowledge

Fine silver, also known as Precious metal clay, is just that...clay! It is a jewelry element that starts as a clay consistency and once fired all the clay binding particles are burnt off and you are left with 99.9% silver. The clay is fired at around 1650 degrees for a certain period of time, and the results are a beautiful piece of silver!

There are no limits to what can be done since it shapes and works like clay, it is up to the imagination. You also aren't limited to just using clay you can mix media's using stones, concrete, other metals, and much more.

Silver Metal Clay tips, tricks, and information

There is an infinite amount of metal clay jewelry information that can be put to good use. I will try to list all that I can think of, and will eventually have a lens for each piece of information. I will continually add silver jewelry information here as I think of them, and hopefully by the end of all this you will be an expert too! I will also limit this lens to silver metal clay, and please keep in mind there are several different types.

I've been making unique handcrafted jewelry since January 2008, and hope to continue on doing it forever! (Or at least until I can buy a small island!) Breast Cancer Research

Since I donate to breast cancer research and that is the ultimate goal behind me making jewelry, I figured it would only be fair to add a few products that help contribute to the cause as well.
