Ken Evoy - Warm, Helpful, and Supportive
I first met Ken Evoy (online, not in person) around the turn of the century.
I had been working hard to sell my Steel Roses That Never Wilt (tm) online and was meeting with limited success.
I found Ken's ebook, "Make Your Site Sell!," and it was one of the best purchases I've ever made. As a result of what I learned in that book and it's subsequent edition, I rebuilt my website and people from all around the world started finding my website and purchasing them from me.
Later, when I joined his 5 Pillars affiliate program, I learned a lot of what I know about affiliate marketing from Ken.
When Mom had nerve problems following cancer surgery, I was able to bring her home and care for her, instead of sending her to a nursing home, because I was able to earn a living while working at home in the room next to her.
I don't believe I would have been able to do this if it weren't for what I learned, and continue to learn, from Ken Evoy.
I recommend Site Build It! for a number of reasons, because it is an outstanding product that is being continually improved, because I use the tools provided by SBI on an almost-daily basis, and because I believe in Ken Evoy and want to see him and his business prosper as much as possible so he can continue helping others find "it" and improve their lives.
Ken is a treasure and I'm not the only one who feels that way.

And so, on September 15 officially, I resigned my position as CEO for Daniel to take over that role, helped by a terrific team. I'm not big on corny titles such as Chief Visionary Officer, but that description remains my main responsibility as I do what I like to do and what I do well, the roles outlined above (product development, content, forums, etc.). For our "official documentation," I prefer the less corny "Founder and Chairman of the Board."
You and I have an extraordinarily good relationship. I know a lot of people may think "SiteSell is Ken," but they're wrong. You'd really all do very well without me. SiteSell is that strong now. But that's not gonna happen, not anytime soon ....
Still, I know that some of you may worry, "Is Ken going away?" Geez, look at all the rumors about Steve Jobs now. And Bill Gates did ultimately leave (for a far more important mission, I believe). So, um, maybe they weren't the best examples to use. Wink Why? Because...
I'm NOT going away. Like I just said, I'll be doing what I like to do, what I am best at. And Daniel, his team and the Board will be managing the all-important rest of the company, from admin to the "geek-tech" hardware and software issues, etc.... all with excellent teams in place, led by superb directors/team leaders.
Janice and I get to have more family time before our girls leave the nest forever. Nori joins us here in Anguilla in December. By that time, we'll have completed and moved into our new home. And that leaves us a bit over 8 months together as a family before they go to university in New York (which is important for us, since we want the girls to think of THIS as "home").
For over 10 years, Janice and I have worked some very long hours. You can only work like that, as you know, when it's fueled by passion. Yes, we could have grown a far bigger company by making certain decisions at certain moments, but not one that I could ever feel as good about.
So we tortoised our way, working hard and long all the way here. Now it's time to slow down a little, hand off certain parts of what I don't do well and don't enjoy, and start/experience a new life in Anguilla, exploring the Caribbean, and of course, doing what I do well at SiteSell.
Bottom line?
You won't notice any difference, so don't worry. I did want to explain how SiteSell is growing beyond my ability to manage it (or my desire to manage certain areas of it), and the why and wherefore of moving aside to the areas I do best so that we can continue to grow without losing who we are.
True to his word - as we would all expect - Sitesell and Site Build It! continue to grow and evolve and Ken is still around in the forums and newsletters.
It's great to see that Ken and his family can enjoy some of the fruits of their labor, leave the cold Canadian winters behind, and can relax a little in their new home in the Caribbean.

- As you can probably tell from this lens, I am a huge fan of Ken Evoy and the products and services he sells. Ken is the master of under-hype, over-deliver. Anyone who takes the time to learn from Ken will be a better online (or offline) marketer. Act on your dream! JD
