Secrets of Selling Kids' Clothes on eBay

I've been an eBay seller since 2004. I've sold lots of my own kids' outgrown clothes, and also used clothing from tag sales and new clothing from clearance racks. I have selling resources galore to share with those who want to make money selling kids' clothes online.

Whether you're just selling your own kids' outgrown duds, or you troll the clearance sales and sell NWT items, I've got great links and helpful sites for you!

My Top Tips:

(in no particular order)

Open an eBay store.
I WISH I had done this earlier on! You might think, "Oh, it's expensive... how would I come up with a template... too much work... etc., etc. However, a store is the only way to go if you're a serious seller! You get your listings out there once, set them as "good 'til canceled," and you're good to go!
Always have several auctions running...
even though you have a store. Even if the auction items don't sell, these are an inexpensive and strong driver to your store items.
Have SEVERAL links to your store within each listing For instance, in an listing for a Dora the Explorer set of pajamas size 2T, I would have something like this, (where each bolded set of words is actually a link pointing back to a particular section of my store):

"Be sure to check my store for more girls' 2T items and lots of other kids' clothes! I've also got more Dora the Explorer items, and lots of other Nick Jr. things! Shop around and save with combined shipping!:
Have your inventory well-organized
This will facilitate speedy shipping and eliminate the danger of double-listing something! It also allows you to list like items at the same time. (Example: If you have tons of 4T clothes, you certainly want to have them all listed when you run an auction for a great 4T item, for those shoppers who follow a link into your store and want to buy more).
Join a group with a forum, like Here Comes The Stork.
It's the best way to hear about what's selling, where the great deals are, and get feedback for your most pressing questions. It's other people, just like you, selling kids' clothes on eBay!

This is the best all-in-one resource I've ever found for selling kids' clothes on eBay.
Find links to specialized sites, get advice about pictures and storefronts, chat with and get great information from other like-minded eBayers in the HCTS forums, and get more exposure for your auctions! Here Comes The Stork has it all!

In the interest of full disclosure, I do get a small commission for new HCTS members that sign up through my link here. However, HCTS would still be my top recommendation even without the commission. Gymboree-lines: When it comes to eBay, being an educated buyer & seller is THE KEY to success! eBay sellers, you KNOW you will make more money on your Gymboree item if you know the line name and list it in the auction. (Note: Unfortunately, this one requires a paid subscription).
Gymbohaven: A site created to be a Gymboree line identification and informational site. Free of charge, and full of great info.
BABY LULU Line Names & More: An eBay Guide compiled to help both buyers and sellers. You'll find line names, fabric types, manufacturing info....
Name That Line (Janie and Jack & Gymboree): At NameThatLine, they know how frustrating it can be when you want to complete a set from a line and can't find the missing pieces because you cant remember the name of the line to search for. Here you can ID Gymboree lines and Janie and Jack (and others...) lines for free!
hannafannas.com: hannafannas.com is the site for fans of Hanna Andersson children's clothing. Use this free site to identify your favorite Hanna prints and styles, or find some new ones. You'll find print IDs, style IDs, and even a tag library!
LuLu Line IDs: This site is to help you identify your Baby Lulu items. Includes pictures, line names, and more.
Lilly Pulitzer Print Indentification Site: Includes pictures and names of all Lilly prints, and amazing lines drawings and names of the various styles! Great resource!

Ebay is a pain IMO to sell baby things I personally use http://tradingcradles.com they are focused on baby stuff and 100% free, check them out.
