Regardless of the color of your Kinesio tape, the benefits are the same...

Kinesio tape affects the neurological and circulatory systems to provide a wide range of benefits...

It provides support and stability to weak muscles or unstable joints. It is used to relax or inhibit an inflamed or stiff muscle. It improves circulation and reduces swelling.

The most awesome thing about Kinesio tape is that is won't restrict movement. Kinesio tape works with the body and allows full movement of the joints to occur.

When undergoing treatment for any condition, the importance of nutritional needs should not be ignored. Your nutritional needs can easily be taken care of with this new revolutionary scientific approach to delivering formulations that fulfill individual needs based on confidential genetic testing.

So, can Kinesio tape help my ailments?

Kinesio tape coupled with exercise, stretching, and other treatment modalities can provide significant benefit!

Here are just a few conditions that Kinesio tape can benefit:
  1. Low Back Pain: Kinesio tape relaxes spasm in the lumbar spine as well as the gluteal region. It assists with facilitating weak muscles in the abdominal region, which help to stabilize the spine.
  2. Shoulder Pain: Kinesio tape reduces stress on inflamed rotator cuff muscles and helps to facilitate postural muscles to improve the alignment of the shoulder allowing for an optimal healing environment.
  3. Knee Pain: Kinesio tape assists in improving recruitment of medial quad muscle (VMO) and reduce stress on the knee cap. It can also be used to relax tight muscles like the hamstring or calf muscle.
  4. Tendinitis: Anytime you receive a diagnosis of tendinitis, Kinesio tape will assist in providing pain relief by reducing stress on the inflamed tissue.
  5. Swelling/Lymphedema: Kinesio tape stimulates the movement of swelling to the lymph glands where it can then be eliminated appropriately from the body.
  6. Pregnancy: Low back pain, breast tenderness, migraines, calf spasms...all can be relieved with Kinesio tape.
  7. Pediatric Population: Kinesio tape is safe to use on children and can assist with developmental disorders as well as orthopedic conditions.

Is Kinesio tape painful?

Kinesio tape is designed to have similar qualities of the skin, which allows for lifting of the skin. It is very comfortable and most people forget it is even on. It is made with a 100% high grade cotton patented design that enhances comfort and channels out air, sweat, and water to enhance skin breathing. The tape is latex free and only a small percentage of patients experience mild skin irritation with use of the Kinesio tape.

Care should always be taken when removing the tape to reduce skin irritation and bruising. Only trained professionals should apply the tape to reduce incorrect techniques.

Kinesio tape will benefit you even if you'r not after a gold medal!

Where do I find a provider offering Kinesio tape as a service?

Check with your local physical therapy and chiropractic offices to find a clinic that offers Kinesio taping. Some athletic trainers may also be trained in this area of expertise. As stated previously, using the tape in conjunction with other treatment modalities will provide the most optimal benefit. It is important that you be receiving education in addition to the taping methods.
